November/December Book Report: Adventure Guidelines DO NOT LOSE this sheet! It needs to be turned in with your final draft project on December 19. Instructions: Your mission is to construct a diorama of an exciting scene from your book in the form of a shoebox diorama. There should be absolutely NO exposed cardboard on or inside of your shoebox. To summarize your story, set up the outside of your shoebox like this: TOP: Title and autor Right side: Characters and descriptions. Include their name, age, physical and personal characteristics. (2-3 sentences about each character). Example: Theodore Boone, age 13. Brilliant, although uninterested in school. Both parents are lawyers, so Theodore knows a great deal about the law. He assists classmates and people in his life with legal problems and is painfully honest. Left Side: Setting description. Include the time period and any major places, along with their descriptions. Back: Summary of book. This should be 2 or more paragraphs and include the main problem, solution and the ending. Use the guidelines on the back to write your summary. Include a description of who they are, describe them-give their characteristics. (include brief character summaries in your big summary. Remember describe how with descriptive words, don’t just tell. (Also include the setting in your comprehensive summary. 1-2 sentences should cover it). Sequence - What happened in the beginning, middle and end? Problem - What is the big, main problem your character(s) has/have to face? How the problem was solved Ending (Tell what happened after the problem was solved)
