Osceola County has signed on with the state of Iowa to use Alert Iowa for mass notification and emergency messaging. This system will be used for storm warning messages, law enforcement messages, hazardous materials emergencies, civil alerts, etc. Osceola County residents can use the link below to sign up for notifications and to pick the messages they would like to receive. This will take the place of NIXLE, which is being used for storm warnings now. The system can be used by state and local authorities to quickly disseminate emergency information to residents in counties that utilize the system. Alert Iowa will allow citizens to sign up for the types of alerts they would like to receive. Messages can be issued via landline or wireless phone, text messaging, email, FAX, TDD/TYY, and social media.
