 Mainframe is main control function unit. It is one core unit to manage and control sub-panels
and modules and system components.
 Sub panels are data acquisition cards and zone alarm control panels.
Data acquisition cards is function cards which are used to manage and monitor detection bus
lines, report detection bus loops abnormal condition to main control unit, receive and
implement main control unit’s linkage operation commands.
Zone alarm control panel normally is 5Si fire alarm control panel
 System modules and components include sub panels, bus linkage operation cards, multi-line
linkage operation card, fire extinguishing function card and communication function card.
Bus linkage operation card is used to mange bus linkage operation keyboard. It is function
card to be used to realize remote control module direct push button open/close. Its detailed
description is referred to “keyboard” section.
Multi-line linkage operation card is used to mange multi-line linkage operation keyboard. It
is function card to be used to realize one-to-one direct external control push button
open/close. Its detailed description is referred to “keyboard” section.
Fire extinguishing control card is function card to realize fire extinguishing control.

Fire alarm controller should be installed in a room or place where can be controlled by man，at the
same time please install fire alarm controller on the wall. Normally fire alarm controller’s bottom
is far away from the ground 1.5 meters，It will leave more than 0.5 meter distance in two sides. So
that it will be easy operate and maintenance.

Outside wiring requirements：
Signal line adopts fire resistant copper core lead wire whose sectional area is no less than 1.5mm2.
Power supply line adopts fire resistant copper core lead wire whose sectional area is no less than
2.5mm2.

Explanation：
1、 Tn+、Tn- is alarm linkage operation loop bus, 1≤n≤64，the above figure just shows 12 loops
for the sample example, each loop can connect 250 addressable equipment, which include fire
detectors and remote modules.
2、 K1、K2 are external control contacts. They will be closed after first fire alarm and no time
delay.
3、 D+、D- are 485 communication bus and connect zone control panel or remote data acquisition
card. External connected zone control panel, remote data acquisition card and this panel
internal data acquisition cards total number cannot be more than 32 pieces.
4、 Fn+、Fn- are fire repeater communication bus, 1≤n≤4, each loop can connect 30 pieces fire
repeaters maximally. Fire repeater address in the 4-loop bus adopts united address. The
number is between 1 and 120.
5、 F、M are broadcast audio frequency line
6、 TH+、TH-、H+、H- are telephone bus, connect DM5i telephone control modules. TH+ and THare signal bus, connect DM5i’s T+、T-， H+、H- are telephone audio frequency lines, connect
DM5i’s H+、H-. Each loop telephone bus can connect 90 pieces address telephone control
module.
7、 Cn+、Cn- are direct output external control contacts, connect RM5i/B relay modules, 1≤n≤
160, each set terminals just can connect one module.

gas manual control box, 1≤n≤32, its wiring is corresponding to SK5i manual gas control
box’s SIG1、SIG2、VD+、VD-.
Sound, LED and Keyboard
Sound
This control panel can send out 2 different sounds to indicate fire alarm, fault and linkage
operation status. Fire alarm and linkage operation status are indicated by one same sound. We
cannot use written language to describe the 2 sounds difference. But, after you test our panel: push
down self-checking button, during the system self-checking, it will send out one sound to indicate
fire alarm (linkage operation). Another sound will be indication for fault.
Fire alarm (linkage operation)sound: when there is fire alarm or linkage operation( module
activated or response), it will send out fire alarm (linkage operation) sound;
Fault sound: when detectors or modules have fault, or system components have fault, or main
power or back-up power supply has fault, it will send out fault sound.
LED
Fire alarm LED：illuminated in fire alarm status, if not, LED extinguished；
Linkage operation LED：illuminated when modules are activated or response, if not, LED
extinguished；
Fault LED：illuminated when modules and loop products have fault, if not, LED extinguished；
Isolation LED：illuminated when the equipment is isolated, if not, LED extinguished；
Back-up power fault LED：when the back-up power supply voltage is less than 21.6V or there is
power charging fault, the LED is illuminated, if not, LED extinguished；
Main power fault LED：when the main power supply voltage is less than 180V, the LED is
illuminated, if not, LED extinguished；
back-up power LED：when the back-up power is working, the LED is illuminated；
Main power LED：when the main power is working, the LED is illuminated；
Silence LED：When the LED is illuminated, it shows that there are fire alarm, fault or linkage
operation, but the sound has been closed down.
Polling LED：if the LED flashes, it shows that the system is in normal operation status.
Keyboard
The control panel front keyboards have clear indication of their function. So we do not discuss it
once again.
Now we discuss “bus linkage operation card” and “multi-line linkage operation card” keyboards.
Bus linkage operation card: this card keyboard is used to open or close remote control modules. It
includes main cards and ancillary cards. Each main card can connect 11 pieces ancillary cards.
Each card has 16 keys. Each key controls one addressable remote module. Key number is coded

from main card. Its turn is main card, No.1, No.2, No.3… No.11 ancillary card. The number is
from 1 to 192. The second main card and ancillary card number is from 193 to 384, and so on. The
corresponding relation set-up between key number and module number is referred to “key
number” section. Each panel’s bus linkage operation card amount is decided based on the
customer project requirement. The maximal capacity can be 12（main card）×12（each main card
includes itself and 11 ancillary cards）=144 pieces (144×16=2304 points)。
Multi-line linkage operation card: the keys on this card is one-to-one direct hardware activation
push button. Each card has 16 keys. Each key controls one addressable multi-line module. The key
number is coded from first card and so on. Such as, if first card’s first key number is No.1, the
second card’s first key number is No.17….. and so on. Each control panel’s multi-line linkage
operation card amount are decided based on the customer project requirement. The maximal
capacity is 10 pieces （10×16=160 points）.
From installation to operation
1、 Please read this manual carefully
2、 Based on “structure and installation”section, install this panel
3、 Use megohmmeter to measure alarm bus earth resistor value. The resistor value
should be more than 20 megohm. At the same time, based on wiring terminal layout
figure to check the wiring is right or not and make sure that various fasteners
have been fixed tightly. Mount the fire detectors based on local fire regulation
requirement.
4、 Start up。
5、 In “system management” set up “ automatically search above equipments when
open the panel each time” as “enable”；
6、 Close down the panel, then start up once again。
7、 In “registration”, please register external equipments。
8、 According to “location” section, set up each equipment physical location。
9、 According to fire regulation requirement, edit linkage operation relation sheet
based on “linkage operation programming” section。
Basic functions
Start up the panel
Please close main/back-up power switch, the panel is electrify reset. The control panel moves to
initialization status: first make LEDs and sounder self check, then take turns to search system
connected sub panels, bus linkage operation card (main card), multi-line linkage operation card,
fire extinguishing function card, communication function card and so on. It shows the detected
equipment amounts. For communication function card, it does not show these cards numbers. It
shows this card connected fire repeater numbers. After the initialization, the panel moves to
monitoring status. The panel front polling LED flashes. For the first time operation, if the operator
need to register bus equipments, please make reference to “register external equipment” section.

Fire Alarm
In normal monitoring status, the control panel polls registered each detector,
closely monitors each detector current smoke density or temperature value. And based
on arithmetic, operate and identify this parameter. If it meets fire alarm establish
condition, it will move into fire alarm status immediately. At this time, the control
panel will send out fire alarm sound, the panel front fire alarm LED will be
illuminated, the printer prints out fire alarm address and alarm time, the LCD screen
displays alarm address, numbers and so on. At the same time, the control panel
external control contacts K1, K2 are closed. If the linkage operation is in automatic
mode, the control panel will follow pre-set logic relation to send out linkage

operation commands to activate corresponding remote control modules and active

alarm message and 2 linkage operation information. This is No.0 page.
There is no need to explain second line.
Third “start all: 001 respn all: 002” shows currently there is one equipment
activated, two equipments have feedback (or response) signal.
Fourth line “02-008 second floor east roller shutter door 10:32 10:33”, this
linkage operation information shows: second floor east roller door has been
activated on 10:32. Send back feedback signal on 10:33. The remote control module
number which controls this roller shutter door is No.008 of Zone 02.
Fifth line “01-010, first floor positive pressure fan 10:32 10:33”, this linkage
operation information shows: first floor positive pressure fan has been activated
on 10:32. Send back feedback signal on 10:33. The remote control module number which
controls this positive pressure fan is No.010 of zone 01. We should make some
explanation. Why do we say “10:33” shows feedback time rather than activated time?
It is mainly judged from its display location. If the “10:32” row location displays
time, this time is equipment activation time. Then in “10:33” row location,
displayed time should be feedback time.
Please note last time in the above screen, “ fire direct”shows push
to be
able to see system current fire alarm detailed information. Fail direct

Fault alarm
In order to make sure that fire alarm control system can work normally for long time,
fire alarm control panel should make close monitoring to loop lines, fire detectors,
remote control modules, other bus equipments, power supply, rechargeable battery

and so on. It should have fault alarm function. In fault alarm condition, the control
panel sends out ambulance sound. Panel front fault LED is illuminating. Fault type
will be shown in LCD display screen. If the fault is from fire detectors or remote
control modules, the printer will print out fault addresses, alarm time. The LCD
display will show alarm address, alarm total amount information, and so on. At this
time, the operator should eliminate the faults asap. After the fault is eliminated,
the control panel will be automatically reset and move to normal monitoring status.
Detector or remote control module fault
In normal condition, each detector or remote control module will have one relatively
stable measuring value. If this measured value is not stable, it shows that the
detector or remote control module has problem. The control panel will send out
detector fault or remote control module fault information.

System components fault
If the system sends out sub-panel fault, bus linkage operation card (main card) fault,
multi-line linkage operation fault, and so on, it shows that there is communication
problem (communication lines) between the system components and main control panel.
Or themselves problem has made communication break down between the system
components and main control panel. This fault is a big problem. It indicates that
the main control panel has lost the control function to a lot of system components
and cannot control or activate these system components in fire condition. So the
operator should find out the fault reasons asap and return the fire alarm system
to normal operation status.

Main power supply fault
Main power supply fault indicates: the AC 220V power supply voltage is less than
180V (including power break down), the control panel sends out main power supply
fault. The main power supply LED is illuminating. At this time, the back-up power
supply should be connected into the control panel. Otherwise, due to power lost,
the control panel will be automatically closed down.
Back-up power supply fault
Back-up power supply fault indicates: internal back-up power supply voltage of the
control panel is less than 21.6V, back-up power supply line break-down, back-up power
supply rechargeable battery cannot charge the power, the control panel will send
out back-up power supply fault. The back-up power supply fault LED will be
illuminating.

last line in the LCD screen display. So we do not discuss it any more. In addition,
we will not discuss it in subsequent sections.
Registration
Registration is register external bus equipments (such as detectors, remote control
modules) into main control panel and put on records on the panel. In this way, the
main control panel can monitor these equipments. Also so and so only, these
equipments are able to exert their functions. Otherwise, the system cannot work,
just like a group without leader.

After enter into registration function, according to indication：
Input extension number, push down “self-check” key；
We push down 1 key to select registration, the main control panel will command
extension or sub panel to register external equipments and display current
registering process, such as: “registering (500)...100”, note: “500”indicats
that this sub panel can connect 500 addressable bus equipments at maximum (detectors,
modules and so on), this limitation is fixed at Wuxi Brightsky Electronic Co., Ltd
Factory based on customer requirement and sales contract. It cannot be modified at
project installation site. This number has 5 values, including 000, 125, 250, 375
and 500. The after “100”is not current registered equipment amounts, it is current
registration course. Complete course is 254 units. The complete registration process
need to take around between 1 and 2 minutes. Please wait with patience！

After registration is completed, the main control panel will read back external
equipment registered original parameter values from sub panel.
After the main panel reads back registration values, the whole registration process
is finished. If the system needs to register other sub panels, after return, please
enter into “registration” function and repeat above process once again.

Note: due to system components fault, it will make registration or read back
registration value failure, at this time, the operator should check the system. After
eliminating the fault, the operator does the registration work one again.

Refer is see registered equipments’ reference value, equipment type, equipment
location information and so on. Note: in this function, the operator cannot modify
any information. The operator just can see the information only！

registered total equipment amount is 10 pieces (address). We use “No.001 26 SMOK
A Str. 1 floor lobby” line to explain this page display format: “No.001”is
equipment location number. It is locked in No.01 zone. So its equipment number is
No.001 of No.1 zone; “26” is its original registered value”; “SMOK” shows that
this equipment type is optical smoke fire detector. “A Str. 1 floor lobby” is
this equipment physical address in the protection area.
Test
Test is test various external connected equipments’ current value to observe
whether the equipment function is normal or not.
Please first select necessary sub panel number which need to do test；
After confirmation, the operator will see this sub panel connected equipments’
registered value and their current values.
If the sub panel has fault, the current value line will not show any words, total

This control panel has isolation function to bus equipments, various system
components, fire repeaters and other faulted equipments. The isolated equipment will
not send out fire alarm, fault or activation.
If the operator wants to cancel the isolation, please push down “up” and “down”
cursor to move to desired deleted line, push down 2 key, this line will be marked
as “*”number, it indicates that this line corresponding equipment has been isolated.
Push down 2 key once again and “*”number will be eliminated. It indicates that
the equipment isolation has been resumed.

Inching
Inching is set up remote control module’s inching activation mode. After the module
which has been set up as inching mode receives activation command, it will work as”
activation->time delay about 1 second->close. Note: LCD inching module linkage
operation display will not be eliminated after the inching process is finished. It
will be remained in the LCD display screen until the system sends out close command
once again.
If the operator wants to delete any one inching set-up, push down “Up” and “Down”
key and move cursor to desired deleting line, push down 2 key, this line will
be marked as “*” number. It indicates this line information has been deleted, push
down 2 key once again, “*” is eliminated, it indicates that the line setup
has been resumed once again.

In this function: Chinese input adopts Pinyin input method, at the same time, via
input method switch, it can also input big letter, small letter and digits. It will
help the operator make detailed and accurate descriptions to detector or module
location.
Select desired switch zone and enter into above figure displayed windows interface.
In above figure：
“pinyin” location indicates current input method. This panel support Chinese
pinyin input and big/small letter/digits input. Push down “Up” and “Down” cursor
key to switch input methods.
Now we show how we can input one line mixed Chinese, English and digits test. For
example, if we want to input the text of “我的1997Tmd”
，this line text looks very
strange, and it does not have any real meaning. We just want to use this example
to show the input method.
Start the input process
1、 If there is content in text area, please push down continuously “Silence” to
delete the content；
2、 Push “up” and “down” cursor key and switch input method to “pinyin”；
3、 Push 9 key, cursor moves to “pinyin” line, “pinyin” behind shows “W”；
4、 Push 6 key three times until “pinyin” behind shows “wo”；
5、 Push 0 key, “pinyin” behind will show “挝蜗涡窝我斡卧握”；if the desired
word is not shown in this line, the operator can use “left” and “right” cursor
to turn over next page or previous page words list to choose the right desired
word。
6、 Push “我”word location number 5 , the “我”word will be shown in text editing
area and also the cursor will move to text editing area；
Ok, we successfully input one “我”word. Although we just finish to input one
word for desired one complete line words, we believe that you have some basic
understanding of this input method. Maybe there are some questions, such as, the
operator has input wrong word into the text line. For example, we want to push

to input “o”, but due to our mistake, we have pushed 3 and input
“wd”, how to change it? Very simple, you just need to push “left” and “right”
and move cursor to wrong letter character “d”, then push “silence” key and
delete the wrong words or letters. In text editing area or pinyin input area,
you can use this method to delete cursor pointed location characters.！
7、 Now we input “的”
，you should have some basic skills, so we want to use a series

desired line “我的1997Tmd”了，OK, successful, so you will have good feeling
for the system！ After editing equipment location, push “self-check” and
confirm your modification. Then edit other number location once again, push
“reset” to give up modified content and edit other numbers.
Maybe there are some closer equipments. Or they are installed in same place or
location. Such as, maybe in the one big room, there will be equipped with several
fire detectors. And these detectors have different internal addresses. Under this
example, if the operator wants to set up same location content for these several
fire detectors. It will take time. So our panel has unique “location copy” function
to help the operator solve this location description and setup issue.

2, Please delete mapping relation which exceed push button actual numbers, for
example, if the system just has 100 key buttons, the operator should set No.101 key
corresponding module as No.0 of No.0 zone. Therefore, the mapping relation after
No.101 will be invalid. If there is any special requirement to eliminate one key
mapping relation in these 100 keys, the operator just need to set this key mapping
relation as one very big, non-existent module number (after No.65 zone). For example,
if No.1 key is broken, we need to jump this key, we just need to set its corresponding
module number as No.001 of No.65 zone.
History Log
This control panel can record the latest 2000 pieces alarm and activation logs,
including: fire alarm, fault alarm (detectors and system components), linkage
operation activation, module feedback, reset and panel close, and so on. The time
can be corrected to minutes.

“01-001-010” is condition 1 range, it shows No.001 to No.010 of No.01 zone alarm
equipment；
“02-001-010” is condition 2 range, it shows No.001 to No.010 of No.02 zone alarm
equipment；
“03-001-005” is activation range, it shows No.001 to No.005 modules of No.03 zone；
“OR1”is logic relation type. It shows this information is OR1 logic.
This complete information shows: If there is any one equipment which makes alarm
from No.001 to No.010 of No.01 zone, or there is any one equipment which makes alarm
from No.001 to No.010 of No.02 zone, No.001 to No.005 modules of No.03 zone should
be activated.
If the logic relation is OR2, such as “01-011-020 02-011-020 03-006-010 OR2” line,
it shows: if there are any 2 equipments which make alarm from No.011 to No.020 of
No.01 zone, or there are any 2 equipments which make alarm from No.011 to No.020
of No.02 zone, No.006 to No.010 modules of No.03 zone will be activated.
If the logic relation is AND, such as “01-021-030 02-021-030 03-011-015 AND” line,
it shows: if there is at least one equipment which makes alarm from No.021 to No.030
of No.01 zone, and there is at least one equipment which makes alarm from No.021
to No.030 of No.02 zone, No.011 to No.015 modules of No.03 zone will be activated.
If the operator wants to delete programming information, push “up” and “down”
key to move the cursor to desired deleting line, then push 2 key, this line will
be marked as “*” number. It indicates that this line information has been deleted.
Push 2 key once again, “*” will be eliminated. It indicates that this line
information deletion has been cancelled. Push 1

System requirement：if this panel is used as central control panel in central-zone
method and there are data acquisition cards installed in the panel, the data
acquisition card number is ahead. The zone panel number is behind. The operator
should set up the zone panel incept number, for example, in above figure, No. 5,
No.6, No.7 and No.8 are zone panels. Why should we do in this way? There are two
reasons：
1、 Help the system to identity zone panels and data acquisition cards.
2、 Each zone panel just has one zone/loop. Each data acquisition card has 2
zones/loops. If we do not figure the zone panels and data acquisition cards,
it will make confusion for zone numbers arrangement！For example, above No.7
extension zone number is 11, not 13 and 14.
“open panel and search above equipments”
：indicates whether the main panel need
to search extensions, bus linkage operation card, multi-line linkage operation card
and other system components when the operator opens the panel for each time. If the
operator chooses “enable”
， after the main panel is open, it will go through all
process for each time. It is time consuming！We recommend, if the system connected
components have been changed or modified, we can set this function as “enable”
，
after keep the modification information and close down the panel, open the panel
once again and set this function as “disable”
！ Note: If the system is open for
the first time and it does not implement components searching function during the
Initialization, the operator should set this function as “enable”
，keep the function
and information and close down the panel and open the panel once again! Otherwise,
the main control panel will lose the control to all system components. This function
can also be used to isolate communication fault system components. If the component
cannot be normally connected with the main control panel, the operator should use
re-searching and release this component from logic relation temporarily to avoid
the situation that the main panel always sends out fault information！
“allow real-time print”
， it can set as “disable” or “enable”. If it is set
as “disable”, when there is fire alarm or fault, the information will not be real
time printed out. But it does not have impact on black box’s printing function.
“monitor fire repeater”
，it can set as “enable” or “disable”. If it is set
as “disable”, the main panel does not monitor system connected fire repeaters.
That is to say, if there is link fault between fire repeaters and main panels, it
cannot be reflected in main panel.
“polling equipment under menu status”
，it can be set as “enable”, if the system
is under menu item condition and there is fire alarm or linkage operation activated
(excluding fault), the system will send out information immediately rather than wait
to manually return to monitoring status to send out information!
“close LCD back light in idle”also has two options: “enable” or “disable”.
If it is set as “enable” and system works as normal and there is no key push
operation, in 20 minutes, the LCD back light will be closed! After the LCD back light
has been closed, if there is any alarm or key button operation, the back light will
be activated automatically!

“activate windows screen protection program in idle”
，it can be set as “enable”
or “disable”. If it is set as “enable” and the system works as normal and there
is no key button operation, in 5 minutes, the windows screen protection program will
be activated ！
Return monitoring
It indicates that the system and panel has return to monitoring status
System self-check
System self-check is test system LCD display screen, status LEDs and sounders. In
polling status, push “self-check” to enter into this function。

Input keyboard lock password. If the password is correct, lock key LED will be
illuminating. After the keyboard has been locked, it just can allow to do silence
and lock releasing. It does not allow to do other works. If the operator wants to
release the locking function, he just need to push lock key button, in this situation,
the windows interface will display” please input lock release password”.
Automatic/Manual switch
This control panel has automatic/manual switch function. In manual condition, all
linkage operation logic relations are invalid. That is to say, linkage operation
equipment cannot follow fire alarm number and be activated automatically.
Automatic/manual status function switch is implemented via control panel front right
down side hardware lock. Turn the key to make switch. If the system is in manual
status, the manual status LED will be illuminating. If the system is in automatic
status, the automatic status LED will be illuminating. If the 2 LEDs are both
illuminating or both extinguished, it indicates the lock is broken. Please replace
it with new lock!
Linkage operation control
We can use bus linkage operation card key to open or close modules. We also can use
system’s linkage operation control function to open or close modules. But we do
not recommend the second method. It is not so direct and easy!
In normal monitoring status, push 2 key to enter into this function.

Refer isolation
This refer is one simply way for “main menu>>equipment management>>isolation”.
