Working within the Fundraising and Marketing Department, the Major Giving Team focuses on raising funds
from trusts, foundations, statutory funders, high value donors, corporates and in-memory donations.
Main tasks:
1. Help increase major giving income by £100K over the financial year through corporate fundraising.
2. Research, develop, manage and maintain relationships with corporate partners.
3. Play an active role in the development and maintenance of the major giving team processes,
communications and events.
4. Enable the Major Donor Manager to fulfil their required function and ensure that they receive
appropriate and timely information and advice on all relevant matters.
Main Duties:
1. Help increase major giving income by £100K over the financial year through corporate
fundraising.

Contribute towards achieving organizational growth by increasing unrestricted income and
overall income.
•
Assist the Major Donor Manager in implementing the corporate fundraising strategy,
achieving the income target and other Key Performance Indicators.
2. Research, develop, manage and maintain relationships with corporate partners.
•
Introduce and implement stewardship plans for current corporate partners to grow and
develop relationships.
•
Identify key corporate sectors and prospects for WDC to focus on.
•
Conduct prospect research on potential partners and make targeted approaches.
•
Develop suitable products to attract corporate support.
•
Develop and promote WDC’s corporate adoption programme and increase membership.
•
Work with WDC’s Scottish Dolphin Centre to develop new corporate partnerships in Scotland.
•
Represent WDC to external bodies, influential contacts and supporters in order to generate
commitment as appropriate.
3. Play an active role in the development and maintenance of the major giving team processes,
communications and events.
•
Help ensure that the Major Giving database and systems are maintained and kept up to date.
•
Assist in the organisation and running of MG events.
•
Liaise with other WDC teams and departments to provide information and themes for
fundraising projects and communications.
•
Support the day-to-day activities of volunteer staff.
4. Enable the Major Donor Manager to fulfil their required function and ensure that they receive
appropriate and timely information and advice on all relevant matters.
•
Provide administrative/research support to the Major Donor Manager.
•
Ensure that the Major Donor Manager receives appropriate update/progress reports.
•
Carry out any other tasks as required within the role and the Fundraising and Marketing
Department.
