RECYCLE
GUIDELINES
Thank you for participating in the Beltrami County Recycling program. Currently you have to only sort
recyclables into two categories, one being Containers and the other is Fiber Materials. Containers consist of
tin or aluminum cans, glass bottles, and plastic containers with necks and screw type top and the number
“1” - “7” on the bottom. All containers must be rinsed of all food particles and have lids removed. Fiber
products can be cardboard, boxboard, newspaper, magazines, catalogs, phone books, and office paper.
These items can be dropped off at any of the various collection sites located within the City of Bemidji and
immediate area. Residential drop-off sites are as follows; 2815 Ridgeway Ave NW, Young & Davis
Drywall, 170 Anne St NW, and TomStop, 8000 Irvine Ave. NW. Commercial businesses need to go to the
Solid Waste Transfer Station at 751 Industrial Park DR SE located in Bemidji’s Industrial Park. White goods
(old appliances), used oil, oil filters, anti-freeze, tires and very small amounts of brush can also be taken to
Transfer Station at 751 Industrial Park Dr. SE. Paints, pesticides and certain other household hazardous
waste is accepted at this location also. There is a $12.00 per cubic yard fee assessed to carpeting and
treated wood, $11.00 per yard for demolition and construction debris. Any kind of kitchen refuse or
bathroom tissue, napkins and etc. is unacceptable for recycling. Following these simple guidelines will
help keep future solid waste fee increases minimal. Feel free to call 218-755-1440 with any questions.
