BARBARA WHITE’S DIAMOND STRATHSPEY 3X32 BAR STRATHSPEY Recommended Tunes: Mary and Maurice Cooper Miss Judith Robertson Miss Barbara Manning of Bramfield (Dance: Brigs of Ayr) Bars 1-8 1C cross right hand and cast off one place; dance down between 3C and cast up to 2nd place on the opposite side. Bars 9-16 Passing left shoulder with partner, 1C dance a half reel of four with 3rd corners (partner’s 1st corner). Pass left shoulder and then dance a half reel of four with 4th corners (partner’s 2nd corner). Finish in 2nd place on own side. Bars 17-24 1C dance diagonal rights and lefts. 1L dances up and 1M dances down to begin. On the last left hand 1L omits polite turn and finishes in the centre facing down. 1M completes his polite turn and then joins his partner in the centre, facing down with nearer hands joined. 3C come into the centre and face up with nearer hands joined. Bars 25-28 1C and 3C set to each other. 1C turn towards each other and then cast to 3rd place. 3C dance up to 2nd place Bars 29-32 1C turn with both hands and finish in 3rd place. Repeat from new positions This dance was presented to Barbara White at the 25th Anniversary Ball of RSCDS Cheshire Branch on 10th January 2009. Its purpose is to honour Barbara and thank her for her service to the RSCDS and to the Cheshire Branch.
