Sr. Transportation Engineer Manager - Highway Development
Harrisburg or Philadelphia office
Will deliver a variety of roadway and related projects for the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. Engineer shall be professionally
registered in PA (or able to obtain reciprocity) and have 15 plus years of experience
designing and managing highway projects.
DAILY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design
• Prepare calculations to support roadway designs
• Utilize design software including: Microstation V8i, Geopak, InRoads, (Open Roads
Technology)
• Prepare plans, technical specifications and cost estimates for roadway designs
• Roadway design skills necessary to assemble a PSE (Plans Specification and
construction cost Estimate) package for a highway project, including: horizontal and
vertical alignment design, drainage, stormwater and E&S design, guiderail, signing and
pavement marking design, and traffic control
• Knowledge of drafting software packages - i.e., Microstation/InRoads
• Understanding of the PennDOT “project development process”
REQUIRED EDUCATION LEVEL:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering; Masters degree is a plus
