Analytic Trouble Shooting® How to Complete Your Workshop Applications for College Credit If you are completing a degree in the U.S. and seeking college credit for the Kepner-Tregoe Analytic Trouble Shooting (ATSSM) workshop you attended, you must complete three applications: a Recognize a Problem, a Find True Cause, and either a Select a Fix OR Avoid Future Problems. An application is where you apply the concepts you have learned during the workshop to your specific work. The applications must be submitted on paper worksheets, Excel worksheets (or in eThink®) and must meet the performance standards set for each process. Refer to the Performance Standards document for details. Here is how you can prepare to complete the applications before, during, and after the workshop. Before the Workshop – Select the Applications Meet with your manager, team leader, or team members to identify the applications you will work on in the workshop. Information on how to select applications to work on is provided in the pre-work that you will receive two weeks prior to the workshop. During the Workshop – Work on the Applications After each concept briefing and case practice, you will be given time to work on the applications you selected. Use this opportunity to make as much progress as you can and make sure you consult with the instructor and receive feedback on your application. Also make sure to tell the instructor you are working on your applications for college credit. Before you leave the workshop, get your instructor’s contact information so you can get further guidance, should you need it, after the workshop. After the Workshop – Complete and Submit the Applications After the workshop, you will have five weeks to complete the three applications. You may consult your instructor or your colleagues to refine and complete the applications. Each application must be completed according to the performance standards specified for that process and must be submitted on paper worksheets, Excel (or eThink) worksheet. Submit the completed applications to jdavid@kepner-tregoe.com. Mail paper applications to Janet David, KepnerTregoe, Inc., P.O. Box 704, Princeton, NJ 08542-0704. How to Get College Credit The American Council on Education (ACE) College Credit Recommendation Service has evaluated the following Kepner-Tregoe workshops for college-level credit: Analytic Trouble Shooting (5-day workshop, 3 lower level credits, KTI-0017) Problem Solving Decision Making (3-day workshop, 2 upper level credits, KTI-0009) Project Management (3-day workshop, 2 upper level credits, KTI-0016) KT Resolve (3-day workshop, 2 lower level credits, KTI-0018) If you are pursuing a college degree in the U.S. and your college or university accepts ACE college credit recommendations, you may choose to join the ACE student registry. To receive credit recommendations, you must first register at ACE’s registration site (https://www.acenet.edu/transcripts/register/.) Once you have registered, the ACE recommended courses that you have submitted will be verified, and approved courses will be made part of your record in the ACE online transcript system. The one-time fee to establish an ACE transcript is $40 and this includes the first transcript. Subsequent transcripts can be ordered for $15. To order a transcript, go to the ACE online transcript site at https://acenet.edu/transcripts/. Remember that while ACE has indicated the above workshops merit college-level credit, each college or university makes its own decision regarding the amount of credit it will accept, based on its requirements and the program you are pursuing. Before joining the ACE Registry, please check with your college advisor whether the above workshops are relevant and will be accepted. 01/09/08 Copyright © 2008 Kepner-Tregoe, Inc.
