Job Title: Associate Broker, Aquaculture and Livestock Job Location: LONDON, UK Salary range: £30 – 35K per annum Posted on: 27 December 2013 Closing date: 25 January 2014 To provide quality broking services to existing and new clients, underwriters and business counterparts to increase and maintain business levels as well as to generate new business. Key Responsibilities Assist in the maintenance of existing international Aquaculture and Livestock accounts and the continuing development of new business. Handle enquiries from Aquaculture and Livestock insurance clients in China and other Asia Pacific countries. Provide independent advice on the suitability of Aquaculture and Livestock insurance schemes and place insurance on behalf of clients. Liaise with insurance companies to obtain quotations and follow up on policy issuance. Attend client meetings and conferences as required by the company. Handle documentation and maintain computer records. Key Accountabilities Timely and accurate delivery of management information. Ability to prioritise and organise own workload to ensure that deadlines are adhered to. Timely resolution of queries and/or complaints from both inside and outside the organisation. Ability to develop and sustain relationships with both internal and external customers. To be seen as a respected contact and source of advice, both in the UK and internationally. Willingness and flexibility to travel to and work from our Asian offices when required. Ability to work under pressure and without supervision. Achievement of objectives set as part of the balanced scorecard appraisal process. Key Competencies Skills and abilities needed to perform role Proficiency in Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Required to work flexible hours as determined by the business to serve clients in China and other Asia Pacific countries The ability to think and react quickly in challenging situations and negotiations. Very organised and detail-oriented; independent in delivering agreed objectives and yet a team-player; meticulous in the detail and presentation of work. Exceptional communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills; outgoing and friendly personality. Knowledge and Experience Good technical knowledge of the detail of FCA regulations as they pertain to insurance intermediaries. Fluency in English and Mandarin (both written and spoken) is a must. Previous client servicing experience in Aquaculture and Livestock insurance. Previous exposure in insurance broking firm(s) will be an advantage. Well established network of client-base and underwriters in the Aquaculture insurance market in China and other Asia Pacific countries.
