Development Associate Jacksonville Children’s Chorus Job Description: The Development Associate is responsible for supporting fundraising operations for the Jacksonville Children’s chorus, reporting to the Director of Development. All responsibilities require ongoing knowledge of activities and programs throughout the organization, exemplary written and oral communication skills, an exceptionally high level of attention to detail and the ability to establish productive relationships with staff, Board of Directors and donors. This position is part-time with no benefits. The mission of the Jacksonville Children's Chorus is to provide a high-quality choral music education for children of diverse backgrounds, fostering teamwork, selfdiscipline, accomplishment and pride while filling an important cultural need in the community and sharing the beauty of the choral art form through artistically excellent performances. Responsibilities: Research potential donors Interpersonal communication with corporate and individual prospects Build relationships with current donors Facilitate the development of relationships with donors through presentations, personal meetings, regular communications and/or arranging meetings with donors and Development Director Research potential grant sources Assist with researching, writing and preparing grant proposals as needed Maintain donor database: eTapestry Assist in drafting the development of funding proposals/donor appeal letters Track donations Interact with donors at various JCC concerts/events Maintain schedule of contacts with donors regarding events/needs of JCC Assist with dissemination of JCC concert comp tickets to existing and potential donors Qualifications: Bachelor degree in journalism, marketing/public relations Good interpersonal skills: face-to-face, oral and written communication Attention to details Database management skills Systematic, efficient, independent work habits with good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task To Apply: Please send a cover letter, resume and three references to Suzanne Crittenden at scrittenden@jaxchildrenschorus.org (no phone calls please).
