11.00 Welcome: Jane Lillystone, Museum, Arts and Tourism Manager, Cheltenham Borough
Council
11.05 Overview of New Expressions to date and vision, objectives and ambitions for the
programme going forward and reflections on Lessons Learnt in NE2: Nicola Moyle, New
Expressions Board member; City Curator, Plymouth City Museums and Art Gallery
11.20 Exploring solitude; an Antarctic commission by Neville and Joan Gabie
Jane Lilly stone together with project artists Neville and Joan Gabie and staff from the
Collections and Education teams will talk about the project, including how it links to ambitions
for the Art Gallery & Museum’s new development, the inspiration of Antarctic collections, the
experience of being an artist in Antarctica and the challenge of engaging new audiences
including young people.

acquiring, decommissioning, legacy, creative dispersal and disposal, etc

Expressions museums (?and artists) build their brand and profile and to create a strong
