How Can Museums Support the Curriculum for Excellence? Learning outside the classroom is a key recommendation within the Curriculum for Excellence. By visiting a museum or gallery children have the opportunity to meet new people and gain confidence in exploring the world beyond the classroom. Object based learning has an important contribution to make to education in both the specific sense of acquiring new skills such as enquiry, problem solving and analytical awareness and in the broader sense of encouraging children to think critically and develop their powers of observation and concentration. All areas of the curriculum can be supported by a museum visit. If you would like to know more or need advice contact Anne Wallace, Education Officer: anne.wallace@glasgowlife.org.uk
