PREPARATION
The last two weeks have been preparation for this session.
The purpose of this session is for a group to produce an intervention proposal that can
be presented to other course members.

ORGANIZATION AND KEY POINTS OF THE SESSION
The purpose of the session is to prepare a pilot project to improve drug use in each
participant’s country. At this stage of the course, participants have organized
themselves into working groups by country or groups of countries and have decided on
a particular drug use problem to work on.
Provide a brief overview of the objectives. The Country Presentation Worksheet will
lead participants through the process of developing the pilot project.

PREPARING COUNTRY PRESENTATIONS
Distribute 5 to 10 blank overhead transparencies and overhead pens to each group.
Instruct the participants to prepare transparencies containing the following information:








Problem statement
Project objectives
Intervention
Outcome variables
Data analysis
Illustrative results (dummy tables or graphs)
Gantt chart (time line)
Budget
Participants should allow 15 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for discussion.
Inform participants that the course trainers will be available as resource persons
throughout the session, as needed.
