1894. Sep 5th, Noble was issued a set of cloths valued at $5.00 in the nearby town of Pine City
MN. The next day he received $3.50 cash and a ticket to Riverdale MI in Gratiot Co, near the
home of both his and his wife's parents (mc/rsc).
1900. The mass grave where the remains of the 12 bodies of the Noble and Fred Sherman's
families were interred, was consecrated by a 60 ton tapering shaft of grey granite about 52 feet
high. It was dedicated to the memory of the 418 men, women and children who perished in and
around Hinckley MN during the two hour fire of Sep 1 1894 (mc/rsc). Records exist at the
Hinckley Fire Museum, 106 Old Highway 61, Hinckley MN 55037, <hfire@ecenet.com>. A

not logical fit into either of these families, except they do fit in the Hines family by age. It does not seem
likely the Hines each married only once with six children and six alive could have three children named
Hines and three named Sherman. Mostly likely the 3 Sherman children are called Sherman by mistake
