IUTOX EDUCATION AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
PLAN
(2004-2007)
This commission will progress and extend the important educational activities of
IUTOX
.
The aims of the commission are:
 To promote educational and career development opportunities for
toxicologists worldwide
 To provide Continuing Education programmes to National Societies in
Developing Countries
 To facilitate the enhancement of education programmes and International
collaborations
 To raise and provide funds and resources for education and career
development

Specific objectives:






To continue to raise, and mediate the allocation of, funds for fellowships for
SOT attendance by persons from developing countries (Lead-K Chipman)
To compile an information database of funding sources to support
International laboratory exchange visits (Lead-K.Chipman with Barbara
Hales)
Delivery of online toxicology postgraduate education for developing countries
(Lead- Paul Wright))
Donation of books and educational materials (Lead- Barbara Hales and Wally
Hayes).
Funding and provision of Guest Expert Lecturers and web-based CE
presentations for Continuing Education Programmes associated with National
Toxicology Scientific meetings in developing countries (Lead- K Chipman
and Chris Schonwalder)
To support and interact with the Risk Assessment Summer School (RASS)
programme (Wally Hayes in conjunction with T. Malmfors).
