Public Programme Co-ordinator, Weston Gallery
Nature of Contract:
232 hours between 1 September and 17 April, worked in line with
proposed learning activity preparation and support
Fee:
£4000 inclusive

Purpose of the Role: To devise and deliver a programme of public engagement activities targeting Alumni,
community groups, schools and existing University students and staff, to extend audience engagement with
the Weston Gallery in the period 1 September 2015 – 17 April 2016, supporting initiatives around the
exhibition 'Going Global: A History of the University of Nottingham’ and delivering and planning key
content and activity towards the 'Eighty Years of Boots No 7' exhibition in spring 2016.
Schedule of Services:
Plan and deliver a range of workshops, talks, activities, and guided tours to increase access to the Weston
Gallery/ Manuscripts & Special Collections programme
Prepare resource information in support of participatory activities as required
Liaise with appropriate NLA or Weston Gallery/Manuscripts & Special Collections staff to ensure that all
programme opportunities are appropriately marketed and listed on box office
Attend at least one NLA Learning team meeting to share information about new Weston Gallery learning
programme
Undertake appropriate evaluation of all sessions with a view to informing future event/activity planning
Ensure all participation is appropriately recorded and notified to NLA’s Learning & Access Administrator
Ensure all provision adheres to Child Protection/Vulnerable Adults and Risk Assessment Frameworks, and
to Health and Safety requirements

Additional Information
The Weston Gallery in based in the D H L Pavilion in Nottingham Lakeside Arts, located close to the South
entrance to the University of Nottingham’s University Park campus. Exhibitions in the gallery are curated by
staff from Manuscripts and Special Collections using material from the University’s collections of unique
archival material and rare published works. The Manuscripts and Special Collections section is based on the
University’s King’s Meadow Campus.
