The new innovative fitting solution – GRASS Dynapro
Innovative movement solutions from GRASS look back on a
rich tradition. Following the merger of Mepla-Alfit and Grass and
the integration of Hetal, the new fittings brand, GRASS, is
launching a completely new sub-surface guide, the Dynapro.
Perfectly coordinated functional properties are wowing furniture
manufacturers and offering consumers real customer benefits.

The heralding of a strong new brand –
GRASS at the Interzum 2009
November 2007 marked the beginning of a new era in the long
tradition of GRASS – Grass and Mepla-Alfit merged, while
simultaneously taking over Hetal. The subsequent 18 months
saw the formation of the new premium GRASS brand with a
broad product portfolio, which covers the entire spectrum of
modern furniture construction. Today, the Group employs a staff
of more than 1,900 spread over 12 sites throughout the world.
The merger of the two companies and streamlining of the
range of fittings were successfully concluded in August of 2008.
And the international sales and distribution activities were
merged as well as restructured to offer customers in 55
countries virtually seamless, and more direct, contact.
Hetal presents product innovations under the GRASS brand
The Interzum 2009, being held between May 13 and 16 in
Cologne, is an important milestone for the new GRASS brand:
the trade fair will uniformly premiere product innovations from
Hetal under the premium GRASS brand in front of international

trade visitors and will then be available around the globe
through the new organisation’s sales and distribution network.
Hetal – specialists in the corner cabinet fittings, flap fittings,
single-axle object hinges and cabinet suspension systems
product sectors – will remain an autonomous enterprise, although sales and distribution will be carried out exclusively
through the GRASS brand. With this move, the Vorarlbergbased company will offer clients around the world a complete
program of functional fittings, guides, drawers and hinges.
And it is particularly the international customers and partners
who will benefit from the restructured GRASS product portfolio.
The expansive product range of innovative fittings systems,
high manufacturing quality and numerous services forge a solutions package that is among the very best the industry has to offer. But GRASS has plenty more in store for the Interzum 2009.
The globally-active company will be presenting itself for the very
first time, complete with its new corporate design. Numerous innovations in various product divisions impressively round off the
presentation across the more than 600 square metres of the
GRASS trade fair stand in Hall 7, Stand E20/21.

Dynapro – the new sub-surface guides system
Innovative movement solutions from GRASS come with a rich
tradition. With the Dynapro, the fittings manufacturer from Austria is now bringing a completely new sub-surface guide to the
market, whose functional properties and technical new developments will wow furniture manufacturers and consumers in
equal measure.
Synchronisation means silent operation without any stop
noises
Unlike standard sub-surface guide systems, the Dynapro is the
world’s only fitting to come with synchronisation. This
mechanically-synchronised guide for each rail guarantees the
high-end comfort that customers will be familiar with from the
double-walled GRASS pull-out systems. With the Dynapro, the
guide rails move without annoying noise or resistance, which
makes using the guide system highly interesting for non-kitchen
furniture as well. Even heavy loads do not affect the
outstanding running properties of the Dynapro. The system can
handle loads of up to 60 kg without any problem. Abrasionresistant plastic rollers ensure constantly smooth, even running.

When closing, the tried-and-tested Soft-close cushioning
system offers gentle closing comfort and a particularly pleasant
operating experience.
3D-adjustment for perfect gaps in furniture
With the Dynapro, the specialists at GRASS have succeeded in
creating a true innovation: Dynapro is the world’s first subsurface
guide
system
with
integrated, three-dimensional
adjustment. The entire drawer can be adjusted vertically and
horizontally and its tilt can also be varied.
Thanks to the new sub-surface guide with three-dimensional
adjustment,
they
can
now
convert
their
manufacturing
processes from four-sided to three-sided drawers. A second
front section, which had to be commonly assembled in parallel
to the front panel, is no longer required.
Special equipment for high-end comfort
The fact that Dynapro actually does offer maximum functional
variability is down to its compatibility with all GRASS comfort
systems. Soft-close, the hugely-successful cushioning system,
gently and quietly closes Dynapro drawers. Equipped with
Tipmatic Plus, the mechanical opening system, it is possible to

install large, handle-free front panels that open simply by lightly
tapping them. And with the Sensomatic, the electromechanical
opening system, Dynapro drawers open almost as if by magic.
In conjunction with these extraordinary movement systems,
GRASS’s Dynapro guarantees the very highest level of
operational comfort.

Harmonious movement coupled with
contemporary kitchen design
Following the Würth Group’s takeover of Hetal, innovative corner cabinet and flap fittings, single-axle object hinges and cabinet suspension systems have now become part of the GRASS
product portfolio. Particularly in the flap- and corner cabinet fittings sector, GRASS now offers a wide range that covers virtually every conceivable customer requirement.
Kinvaro S 35 – the swivel-flap fitting
A good example of this is the Kinvaro S 35, one of the models
from GRASS’s new Kinvaro range. The swivel-flap fitting was
developed for all standard kitchen wall cabinet heights and
widths.
Thanks to the spring resistance-supported opening process,
wall cabinet doors with widths of up to 1,200 mm and heights of
up to 700 mm can be moved easily and without any substantial
force. The strength of the spring resistance can be easily adjusted to the respective weight of the flap depending on the
personal requirements of the user. As the Kinvaro S 35 swivels

back diagonally over the cabinet carcasses, cornices, pelmets
and attached lights are no longer obstacles.
Once open, it remains in any position without any subsequent slipping. And the Kinvaro S 35 is just as easy to close – a
slight pull and the flap fitting returns to its starting position, gently and cushioned.
In addition to the optimum operation of the fitting, great attention has been paid to ensure assembly friendliness. To this end,
the front panels can be installed quickly and without tools.
Thanks to the three-dimensional direct adjustment function, the
flap fitting can be adapted to the specific requirements – either
upon initial installation or subsequently when in use.
Quaturis 75 – corner cabinet fitting for the most demanding
requirements
And – with the Quaturis – GRASS offers a range of corner cabinet solutions that fulfils even the most demanding requirements.
Building on its many years of experience in this sector, GRASS
has created a comfortable, high-end product. The basic fitting
can be integrated into 80-cm and 90-cm cabinets and is suitable for various cabinet heights with its telescopic tube. Up to

three wooden or plastic shelves can be easily height-adjusted
according to the respective requirements. The integrated cushioning mechanism, which can be simply adapted to the various
door weights, ensures a high degree of operational comfort. Elegantly and quietly, the opened door glides back into its starting
position.
The doors are attached using uniform door hinges for normal
and framed doors, with the benefit that this system provides
kitchen manufacturers with clear logistical advantages. Among
other things, the three-dimensional adjustment function of the
doors ensure optimum gaps in furniture.
With the Kinvaro S 35 and the Quaturis 75, GRASS offers
innovative fittings solutions for wall and corner cabinets in modern kitchen furniture programs. Together with the pull-out systems for drawers and hinges for side-hung doors, the furniture
industry and craftsmen now have an expansive range to choose
from, all from a single source and perfectly coordinated.
