Grass Paint Using fresh grass cuttings take a paper plate and some recycled paper and place the grass onto the plate and the paper over the grass. Then have the students step and twist, careful not to rip the paper. The paper will turn green. Explain to students that this green paint is really chlorophyll and that it is inside the grass but when we use friction like rubbing the paper or sliding to catch a ball with our jeans on, the chlorophyll comes out of the grass. By grinding up the grass Fernando was able to create his green paint. Adapted from: http://ecochildsplay.com/2009/01/21/science-andart-with-kids-green-grass-paint/
