This document describes the files in the Patricians Planning Packet.
Patricians Brochure
Attached are 4 versions of the Patricians Brochure. The brochure is intended for a general audience,
including priests, and can be used as a recruiting tool. It can give potential participants a good overview
of Patricians. If you need help modifying the file, contact me – George Bonina (geoboni@cox.net / 571276-6045) – for assistance. I can make the changes and provide you with a MS Publisher and PDF copy.
The three files with the file type .pub are in Microsoft Publisher and can be edited. They are all identical
except for the back page. To avoid problems with the format I suggest you not change anything but the
back page, and keep within the text boxes.
Patricians Brochure FFX Com V6.pub contains 2011 statistics for Arlington Diocese from the 2011
Bishops Report, and the name of a contact in the Fairfax Comitium.
Patricians Brochure Arl Regia V6.pub contains statistics for the Arlington Diocese but no contact info.
There is space to add the contact info. You could also print the contact info on small labels and stick
them on.
Patricians Brochure Generic V6.pub has no statistics or contact info. There is space to add other
information and contact info.
Patricians Brochure V6.pdf cannot be edited but it can be opened with Adobe Acrobat and printed.
These are all tri-fold brochures. They should be printed double sided, preferably in color. You may need
to play with your printer options to get it to print correctly. My HP OfficeJet Pro printer option that
works is "flip on short edge" which automatically prints on both sides. Normal resolution seems to be
adequate. Draft resolution looks washed out. You may have to practice a bit to figure out how to fold
them correctly.
Draft Letter to the Pastor
Draft Letter to Pastor v2.doc is a letter to the pastor requesting permission to establish a Patricians Group
in the parish. It is in Microsoft Word and can be used as is, or modified to fit your situation. Be sure to
replace the text in brackets with actual information. If you send this to the pastor, it would be good to
include a copy of the brochure which is referenced in the letter and other information that may help him
understand the Patricians. Be sure to follow-up if you don’t hear from him in a few weeks. For praesedia
directly attached to the Fairfax Comitium, let the Comitium president (George Bonina) know if you need
help with the letter or in approaching the pastor. Other praesidia should work through their council officers.
Moderator Text
Moderator Text v2.doc is a Microsoft Word file that contains suggested text for the moderator. This will be
helpful especially in the early meetings when we are just getting used to the format.
PowerPoint Presentation
Patricians Powerpoint v2.ppt is a PowerPoint presentation that introduces the Patricians. It also contains
slides with “next steps” for the Fairfax Comitium.
Patricians Agenda and Prayers
Patricians Agenda and Prayers.doc is a MS Word document that contains an agenda, the Patricians prayer
and the Creed. These can be edited and customized for your Patricians groups.
Patricians Sign-in Sheet
Patricians Sign in.doc is an MS Word document of a sign-in sheet. It asks for name, email and phone
number. The email address is particularly important to notify the participants about upcoming meetings.
Some people are reluctant to give away their email address. We suggest that you assure the group that the
email will be used only for occasional Patricians-related notifications and will not be shared with any other
organization. It is also a good idea to send the emails as a BCC so the email address isn’t visible in the
message. This reduces spamming.

Patricians Suggested Topics.doc is an MS Word document that lists suggested topics for Patricians
meetings.
Legion Handbook Chapter 38 on Patricians
Patricians LOM Handbook Ch 38.doc is a MS Word document with the complete text of the Handbook
Chapter 38 on Patricians. It is 8 pages long. This could be included in an information packet for your pastor.
Tracking Template
Patricians Tracking Template.doc is a MS Word document that can be easily modified to track the
status of Patricians in each parish. This can be updated monthly and shared at the council meeting.
Full-page Bulletin Insert/flyer
The Patricians are Coming v3.doc. is a full-page color flyer that can be used as a parish bulletin insert
or handout. We are using it to advertise our upcoming first meeting. It is in MS Word and can be easily
modified for your Patricians group.
