TRADE PACKAGE SCOPE OF WORK
02760 SITE CONCRETE & SIDEWALK SUBCONTRACT
Furnish all labor, materials, tools, taxes, insurances, equipment, hoisting, cranes, supervision and all other
incidentals necessary to accomplish all Site Concrete & Sidewalk Work in accordance with all Contract
Documents as defined within Section 01700 Trade Package General Scope Requirements and this Scope of
Work.
Project Specifications for the Site Concrete & Sidewalk Scope of Work are listed below. This Subcontractor or
Supplier shall carefully examine all specification sections and drawings within the Contract Documents and be
responsible for all work described within this Scope of Work and as required on the project, except where
excluded or specifically assigned by the Scopes of Work to the other Subcontractors. This Subcontractor or
Supplier should carefully examine ALL SCOPE OF WORK PACKAGES for a clear understanding of
the delineation of work among Subcontractors and/or Suppliers.

The Site Concrete & Sidewalk Subcontractor shall be responsible for complying with the requirements of each
Scope of Work Description / Clarification Section listed below, even if those requirements are not shown
within the Specification Sections listed above.
2.0
SITEWORK SCOPE OF WORK DESCRIPTION
2.0.1
The Site Concrete & Sidewalks Subcontractor is responsible for all Work described herein
and below unless specifically noted otherwise to be part of another Subcontractor’s Scope of
Work.
2.0.2
The Site Concrete & Sidewalks Subcontractor is responsible for all layout work, field
engineering including vertical control, providing and maintaining lines and batter boards,
protection of survey pins provided by others and coordination between its Subcontractors and
other on site subcontractors for all aspects covered under this Scope of Work.
2.0.3
The Site Concrete & Sidewalks Subcontractor shall assume the responsibility for determining
if the sidewalk and concrete paving subgrade elevations as delivered by the Site Preparation
Subcontractor are within a tolerance no more than plus or minus two tenths (+0.20') of one
foot and are in conformance with the information reflected on the drawings. The
Construction Manager shall be notified of the acceptance or rejection of these subgrades prior
to commencement of this scope of work.
2.0.4
Excavation, Trenching, Backfilling, Fine Grading & Compaction - This Work shall include,
but not be limited to, all excavation, trenching, backfilling, fine grading and compaction work
associated with the proper installation of all work required of this Subcontract, including, but

not limited to, sidewalks, concrete paving, brick sign foundations, bollard foundations,
flagpole foundation, walkway canopy foundations, exterior concrete equipment pads, etc. All
excavation, backfilling, trenching and compaction work shall be based on the use of safe
excavation practices, governed by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration
(OSHA).
2.0.5
Graded Aggregate Stone Base - This Work shall include furnishing and installing a graded
aggregate stone base underneath the following exterior concrete areas:
1. <Eight inch thick concrete pavement area at loading / dumpster area including but not
limited to, a six (6) inch thick crusher run (ABC stone) gravel base, fine grading,
compaction, etc.>
2. <Four inch thick concrete slab at Mechanical Yard No. 714 including but not limited to, a
four (4) inch thick crusher run (ABC stone) gravel base, fine grading, compaction, etc.>
3. <If applicable, any other exterior concrete slab, sidewalk, etc. designated to receive a
stone base on the drawings.>
2.0.6
Excess Foundation Spoil – The Site Concrete & Sidewalks Subcontractor shall remove and
dispose of all excess foundation spoil to on site locations as directed by the Construction
Manager.
2.0.7
Dewatering - The Site Concrete & Sidewalks Subcontractor shall leave its work in a condition
that will naturally drain at the end of each day. If standing water accumulates, this
Subcontractor is responsible for dewatering, pumping of water, demucking, and subgrade and
soil restoration at no additional cost.
2.0.8
Concrete Sidewalks and Pavement – This Work shall include furnishing and installing all
concrete sidewalks, concrete pavement, exterior equipment pads, door stoops, <4” concrete
slab at mechanical yard,> etc. designated on the drawings complete with concrete, expansion
joint materials, reinforcing, forms, curing compounds, detectable warning surfaces, etc. in
order to provide a complete concrete sidewalk and pavement system.
2.0.9
Grouting Base Plates – If applicable, this Work shall include furnishing and installing nonshrink grout at all base plates provided by others that are utilized or set atop concrete
foundations or other concrete related work provided as part of this Scope of Work. Grouting
of each canopy column support as detailed on Drawing S0600 shall be provided by the Preengineered Walkway Protective Covers Subcontractor and is not part of this Scope of Work.
2.0.10 Concrete Finishes – This Work shall include placement and finishing of all concrete furnished
and installed as part of this scope of work in accordance with the finish tolerance and surface
requirements specified. Work shall also include providing concrete paving saw cut and/or
tooled joints, where specified. Concrete pavement area at loading / dumpster area shall be
sawn in a grid of no more 15’0” x 15’0”. Unless noted otherwise, all exposed concrete shall
be pointed, rubbed and patched to provide a uniform and smooth face finish as part of this
Scope of Work.

2.0.11 Exterior Equipment Pads – This Work shall include furnishing and installing all concrete
related work required for exterior related mechanical / electrical equipment including
mechanical equipment pads and electrical transformer pad. The Site Concrete & Sidewalks
Subcontractor shall reference <Drawing S0100, Notes 4 and 5, Drawing S0400, Details
8/S0400, 9/S0400 Site Electrical Drawing E0400, Detail 1/E0400 for specifics.> The Site
Concrete & Sidewalks Subcontractor shall coordinate the specific size requirements of these
exterior equipment concrete pads with the respective HVAC and Electrical Subcontractors.
All other interior related concrete equipment pads shall be provided by the Concrete
Foundations & Slabs Subcontractor and is not part of this Scope of Work.
2.0.12 Adjustment of Tops / Grates / Covers - The Site Concrete & Sidewalks Subcontractor shall
adjust to appropriate finish grade elevations all tops, grates and covers associated with the
sanitary sewer manholes, catch basins, drop inlets, grate inlets, etc. located within or directly
in contact with an concrete sidewalk or concrete paved system. Elevation adjustment, if
required, to these miscellaneous tops, grates and covers will be undertaken during Phase 3 of
the Site Development Work.
2.0.13 All necessary hoisting equipment required to furnish and install all concrete shall be provided
as part of this Scope of Work.
2.0.14 All necessary conveyance equipment required to place and finish all concrete shall be
provided as part of this Scope of Work.

METALS SCOPE OF WORK DESCRIPTION
5.0.1
The Site Concrete & Sidewalks Subcontractor is responsible for all Work described herein
and below unless specifically noted otherwise to be part of another Subcontractor’s Scope of
Work.
5.0.2
Installation of Steel Embeds – This Work shall include installing all steel embedded items
furnished by the others which are cast directly into an exterior concrete system, including but
not limited to, all required field engineering, vertical control and layout, anchor bolts, bollards
(see Drawing A805, Detail 2/A805), miscellaneous embedded angles, etc. All structural steel
embed items will be furnished by the Structural Steel Subcontractor to this Subcontractor for
installation. The Site Concrete & Sidewalks Subcontractor will be responsible for unloading,
sorting, storing and protecting aforementioned miscellaneous steel materials furnished by the
Structural Steel Subcontractor.
SPECIALTIES SCOPE OF WORK DESCRIPTION
10.0.1 The Site Concrete & Sidewalks Subcontractor is responsible for all Work described herein
and below unless specifically noted otherwise to be part of another Subcontractor’s Scope of
Work.
10.0.2 <Flagpole Installation – This Work shall include providing a complete flagpole foundation
and installation of the flagpole in accordance with the flagpole manufacturer’s written
recommendations and as detailed on Drawing A0805. The flagpole supplier will provide the
sleeve, steel support plate and flagpole with accessories to the Site Concrete & Sidewalks

Subcontractor for installation as part of this Scope of Work. All other installation related
materials (sand, etc.) shall be provided by the Site Concrete & Sidewalks Subcontractor. The
Site Concrete & Sidewalks Subcontractor will be responsible for unloading, sorting, storing
and protecting the aforementioned flagpole and accessories furnished by the Flagpole
Supplier.>
10.0.3 <Brick Sign Foundations – This Work shall include providing a complete reinforced concrete
foundation to serve the two (2) brick signs detailed on Drawing A0805 and as located on the
civil drawings. Confirm locations of these signs with the Construction Manager prior to
commencing with this work. Unless advised otherwise, assume reinforcing these sign
foundations with three (3) #5 bars continuous with #5 vertical dowels @ 12” O.C. >
17.0
SCOPE OF WORK CLARIFICATIONS AND/OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS
17.0.1 Unless stated otherwise herein, the limits of this Scope of Work are easily defined as all site
concrete work designed outside the exterior the building walls (heated building envelope)
with the exception of the foundation for the exterior radius masonry decorative wall serving
the entrance to the media center (see structural drawings) and the foundation for the masonry
screen wall designated adjacent to the loading area (see architectural drawings). As a
summary convenience and as defined on the drawings and herein, the Site Concrete &
Sidewalks Subcontractor shall provide the following as part of this Scope of Work:
1. All exterior concrete sidewalks including the detectable warning surfaces at the handicap
ramp areas as designated on both the civil and architectural drawings.
2. <Four (4”) inch concrete slab reinforced w/ 6x6 10/10 WWM (unless amended
otherwise) placed on a four (4”) inch stone base at Mechanical Yard No. 714 as depicted
on Drawing A0204. The adjoining concrete slab area within the Loading Area No. 713
located closest to the building and adjacent to the masonry mechanical screen wall on the
back side of the concrete curb and gutter provided by others shall also receive a four (4”)
inch concrete slab reinforced w/ 6x6 10/10 WWM (unless amended otherwise) placed on
a four (4”) inch stone base.>
3. <Eight inch (8”) inch concrete pavement reinforced w/#4 bars at 12” O.C. installed at the
top and bottom each way (unless amended otherwise) placed on a six (6”) inch stone base
at Loading Area No. 713. The limits of this slab shall be the area drive in area serving
the dumpsters located on the outside face of the concrete curb and gutter provided by
others. Reference civil drawings for location of where asphalt pavement and concrete
pavement transition into one another.>
4. Exterior mechanical and electrical equipment concrete pads.
5. Protective walkway canopy foundations.
6. Steel bollard concrete foundations, bollard fill and installation of bollards furnished by
others.
7. <Flagpole concrete foundation and installation of flagpole furnished by others.>

8. Other work noted herein.
17.0.2 The Asphalt Paving and Curb & Gutter Subcontractor will provide all concrete curb and
gutter work including the concrete curb and gutter work within the perimeter of dumpster /
loading dock area as depicted on Drawing <A0204>. This Work is not part of this Scope of
Work.
17.0.3 The Site Concrete & Sidewalks Subcontractor shall include installing the +/- 8x8x14
Styrofoam blockouts furnished by the Pre-engineered Walkway Protective Covers
Subcontractor. Grouting of the columns will be by the Pre-engineered Walkway Protective
Covers Subcontractor and is not part of this Scope of Work.
17.0.4 The Asphalt Paving and Curb & Gutter Subcontractor will provide concrete paved entrance
aprons required at each drive entrance. This Work is not part of this Scope of Work.
17.0.5 See the Temporary Facilities, Staging & Site Development Phasing Plan dated <date> for
other specific requirements and phasing of this work.
17.0.6 SEE SECTION 01210 – ALLOWANCES FOR <QUANTITY OF 4” SIDEWALK TO
BE INCLUDED AS PART OF THE SITE CONCRETE & SIDEWALKS BASE BID
PROPOSAL AMOUNT.>
- SUMMARY INFORMATION A.
The Substantial Completion date for the Site Concrete & Sidewalk Subcontractor is as reflected
within the Construction Schedule. Special attention should be directed to the Construction
Schedule for project sequencing requirements which are a requirement of this Scope of Work.
