EXTRA CREDIT Culture Projects - Spanish 1
As an Extra Credit assignment, you may complete one culture project to earn a maximum of 30 points.
A culture project highlights an aspect of Spanish – speaking Culture from a Spanish-speaking country.
(Spanish in the U.S. does not count). The possibilities are as endless as your interests related to music,
dance, theatre, film, art, sports, history, fashion, architecture, design, food, literature, poetry etc… Your
topic must be approved no later than TUESDAY December 1, 2015.
Requirements:
1. Topic approval by instructor no later than TUESDAY December 1, 2015
2. A 250-500 word explanation in English of what you did, what you learned
from it, and the relevance to the Spanish-Speaking culture. Compare the
cultural topic you studied, to a similar practice, artists, food etc. in your culture.
You must CITE your sources. Wikipedia is NOT an acceptable source.
3. A visual representation of what you learned (poster, collage, video, song,
poem, painting, brochure, comic strip, etc.)
5. Five points out of 30 will be awarded for presenting the project to class. Through presenting, you can
share your new cultural knowledge with your classmates. There will be sign-ups for presentations for
the last week to turn them in near the end of each semester. If you do not present, you cannot earn
the extra credit.
DUE DATE:. The absolute last day that they will be accepted is: MONDAY December 14, 2015
NO CULTURE PROJECTS WILL BE ACCEPTED LATE.
In order to prepare for your project, please complete the following proposal by TUESDAY December 1,
2015. If you do not submit a proposal, you MAY NOT submit a project!
