Results Activities made the children and parents’ more aware of recycling. How is the information being taken forward? / Action Plan The results show parents are bringing more materials into the centre for recycling/junk modelling. The setting is also looking into ways it can recycle more e.g. bottle bank. Summary of Findings The children learnt from the group activity the different variety of bins there are, what they are for, how it is important to recycle old things and how they can be made into new products. Results The children had a basic understanding of recycling but were not quite sure of what each bin was for. After the session the children had a better understanding. Also, the children learnt how by recycling things you can make new things. How is the information being taken forward? / Action Plan Include this into discussion time and involve children in planning introducing a “Thought Tree”. Results Activities made the children more aware of what rubbish went in each bin and lorry. How is the information being taken forward? / Action Plan Raise children’s awareness by using existing facilities available to the setting such as a composting bin a parent gave them, by recycling food waste at snack and lunch time. Encourage children and parents’ to bringing in more junk modelling materials into the centre to recycle. Page 3 of 3
