Free Clinic of Southwest Washington Holiday Ball a fundraising success
Vancouver, WA – The seventh annual Friends of the Free Clinic Holiday Ball raised
$200,000 for the Free Clinic of Southwest Washington on Saturday, December 5th at the
Heathman Lodge in Vancouver.
About 235 people attended the gala. Funds were raised throughout the evening, with
wine wall and jewelry auctions, a raffle and paddle raise.
Master of Ceremonies, Mark Matthias, co-owner of Beaches Restaurant facilitated the
program.
The event commemorated twenty-five years that the Free Clinic has been serving the
uninsured and underinsured in Southwest Washington. A brief video celebrated the
long-time volunteers in attendance.
The Presenting Sponsor for this event was PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.
Other sponsorship support came from Kaiser Permanente, Legacy Salmon Creek Medical
Center, Providence Health & Services, The Vancouver Clinic, Hidden Charitable Trust,
Physicians Insurance A Mutual Company, Vancouver Pediatric Dentistry-Drs. Lubisich,
Wells Fargo Advisors, Rand Jewelers, James & Randi Holland, Miller Nash Graham &
Dunn LLP, Rebound Orthopedics & Neurosurgery, Riverview Community Bank, Umpqua
Bank, Molina Healthcare Washington, Inc., Southwest Washington Society of Optometric
Physicians, Northwest Health Foundation and Vancouver Eye Care.
Wine collections were donated by Greg Kubicek, Jim Martin, David Nierenberg and Dan
Wyatt. The raffle item, a lovely blue sapphire diamond necklace, was a created and
donated by Rand Jewelers.
“We are so very grateful to the community members, sponsors, and volunteers who help
make this event one of the primo galas of the Holiday Season. We couldn’t do it without
the Friends of the Free Clinic, who see to every detail and make it a magical night,” said
Free Clinic Executive Director, Barbe West.
