Board Members present: Bill Heyen, Jeremiah Rohr, Paul Dickens, Susan

Purchased property at 2460 Burlington.
Bob presented his remodeling plans to the Board.
Requested a letter of approval from the Board for the public hearing.
Tim makes a motion to write approval letter and motion seconded by
John. Motion carries.
Bill Heyen
 Reminded the Board members of his earlier request that we
contribute at least one newsletter article this year.
Historic Kenwood Softball Team
 Justin is not certain that we will have a team for the summer.
 Board previously agreed to support this team and a budget of
$1,000.00 was approved.
 Money is due - $345 for the season.
 Team will be promoted to recruit new players. If 20 additional people
are found, the team will continue.
 John makes a motion to spend the money budgeted if the team
recruits additional people and motion seconded by Bill. Motion
carries.
Seminole Park Master Plan
 Plans are moving along and changes have already taken place.
 Volleyball court is gone and additional electrical service has been
done.
 A landscape architect from the neighborhood has volunteered to help.
 Waiting for a plant list from the parks department.
Dog Mural
 Bill is meeting with an artist from Dunedin on Saturday at
10:00 and two other artists at 2:00. Anyone that wants to help
is encouraged to come to the meetings.
 Sponsorship may be considered to defer cost.
501-C3 Update
 Jeremiah reports no change.
Historic Kenwood Website
 The Historic Kenwood.org domain name has been purchased by
someone in China.
 Bill will contact the buyer about purchasing the name from
them.
 There are many other names available that we could use if
buying our original name back is not possible.
Historic Kenwood Website
 A Kenwood resident, Janet Scruggs will do the rebuild.
 Volunteers needed.
Neighborhood Yard Sale
 Scheduled for May 7th. Cost is $5.00 to participate.
 Tara Brown has volunteered to organize this event.
 A potential sponsor has shown interest in buying the signs with
the understanding his company logo will be on the signs.
 John makes a motion to let Tara and Bill make the decisions on
the yard sale and seconded by Paul. Motion carries.
34th St Petition
 Richard Meeker who lives in Euclid/St Pauls requested our
support to petition the city regarding a 34th St property owner.
 Shimshoni has a history of unethical business practices.
 As a Board it was decided that we not want to get involved with
his petition.
34th St Letter
 Bill wrote a letter for possible distribution to 34th St businesses.
 Jeff Danner suggested this idea to communicate our concerns
with 34th St issues.
 Questions arose regarding which businesses would receive this
letter. Possibly a different letter to the “good” businesses.
 The Board agreed this is a good idea and should be pursued
further.
Grand Central
 The Grand Central insert in our newsletter has become almost
all ads.
 Their ad rates are cheaper than the Historic Kenwood rates.
 Tim and spoke with Kurt regarding this issue.
 John makes a motion to limit Grand Centrals insert flyer to 5
business card size ads. Motion seconded by Tim. Motion
carries.
Festival of States Parade
 Parade was a great success.
St Pete Pride
 Still need a chair and committee for this event.
 Historic Kenwood is on St Pete Pride calendar for “Movie in the
Park.”
 John will work with St Pete Pride and possibly chair.
Artists Enclave Update
 Bulk mail to owners to obtain signatures from those who have
not responded.
 We need approximately 1100 more votes.
 Option 1 – use CONA’s bulk mail.
 Option 2 – spend $200.00 for postage.
 Paul has written a letter urging the ballot be returned asap.
 Tim makes a motion to spend the $200.00 for postage for the
Artists Enclave ballot. Motion seconded by Bill. Motion
carries.
Conclusion




Aprils Board meeting will be the last Tuesday of the month.
The Board will re-evaluate making a change to the meeting day.
Porch Party for April is in Seminole Park.
Meeting adjourned 8:50.
