Scott L. Vandehey History and Interests Scott Vandehey earned his PhD in cultural anthropology from the University of California, San Diego in 2009. His research focuses on suburban citizenship and politics in the United States and he has conducted extensive fieldwork in suburban communities surrounding San Diego, CA and Portland, OR. He has recently tuned his attention to suburban sustainability issues and is currently investigating how sustainability, citizenship and politics come together at the local level. He teaches at Willamette University and Linfield College and resides outside of Portland, Oregon.
