postdoc position in Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center: About the Department The Quantitative Genetic Epidemiology (QGE) group is recruiting a post-doctoral fellow to conduct research in the areas of statistical genetics, bioinformatics and translational genomic research. The research projects require utilizing new and established quantitative methods to work with data from a number of disciplines and sources, including data from genomic, proteomics, transcriptomics, and clinical follow-up studies. Major Duties This group is currently seeking doctoral applicants who have dual training or interest in both computer science/statistics and molecular biology, and are interested in developing a career in bioinformatics. Qualifications Candidates are preferably trained in quantitative disciplines (e.g., computer science, or statistics or applied mathematics) with strong interest in biomedical research, and must be willing to carry collaborative research in a team setting. Ph.D. in computer science, statistics, computational physics or computational biology is required.
