POWERPOINT PRESENTATION CHECKLIST
KEEP THIS PAPER—YOU WILL NEED IT FOR YOUR SELF-ASSESSMENT

The purpose of this presentation is to allow you to present a
PowerPoint show to your peers. This is to be a professional
presentation; your grade will be determined by your slide show
and the actual delivery of your presentation. The minimum
requirements acceptable will include the basic categories listed
in class and at least 2 extra slides. You will have printouts of
your note pages with your well-written speech. This is a
“serious” and professional business presentation.
The slideshow is worth ___ points and the presentation is worth
___points for a total of ____ points. The following checklist
will be used to evaluate your slide show. The instructor will
determine how many points will actually be deducted according
to the seriousness of the flaw in your show. Grammar,
spelling, punctuation, etc., will be included in your total
grade.
Your slide show and presentation will be created and
graded following these guidelines:
CONTENT
 Content is clear and complete, yet concise and not
repeated.
 Slide show flows smoothly and in a logical order.
 Uses phrases of five to six words (NO VERBS).
 Includes an opening and ending slides.
 Name of slide show is two to five words and speaker’s
name is included.





coloring, ect.)

Your oral presentation will be graded following these
guidelines:
SHOWS RESPECT OF PEERS AND THEIR SHOWS.
 Greets audience and introduces self and show.
 Maintains a fluent pace and doesn’t stumble.
 Elaborate on show rather than “reading the show”
 Understands the subject/content of show.
 Elaborates on show rather than “reading show”.
A Excellent across all categories and/or content.
B Proficient across categories and/or excels in some
categories.
C Covers all categories at basic level
D Missing major category and or minimal effort across all
categories

GRAPHICS
 Bullet symbols are used effectively.
 Must use auto shapes as textboxes for 2 slides.
 Each bullet slide contains no more than six lines,
unless teacher permission is given.
 Clipart and photos are appropriate, small, and fit the
theme without distraction and clutter.
 Color highlights are used effectively and are not
obnoxious.
 Drawings, lines, shapes, etc. adds variety that is not
distracting.
LAYOUT/TEXT ELEMENTS





Font and size is easy to read and consistent.
Italics, bold, etc., are not over-used.
Only the first word in each phrase should be in initial
caps unless proper nouns are used.
All titles on slides should be all CAPS, clear and easy
to read.
Elements of each slide are well balanced, leaving only
narrow gaps of space.
