JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: REPORTS TO: GRADE: CLASSIFICATION: ATTRIBUTES: EXPOSURE RISK: SUMMARY: Psychiatrist Director of Behavioral Health 27 Exempt Leadership Category III Responsible for providing clinic specific oversight of Behavioral Health Program staff and psychiatric assessments, medication assessments and medication management as part of the Behavioral Health program and in compliance with applicable CommuniCare Policies and Procedures and other outside regulatory laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provides initial psychiatric assessments, medication assessments and medication management as part of the Behavioral Health program, patient diagnosis, and treatment for adults and children. Weight: 50%. 2. Responsible for working with the Director of Behavioral Health to assure that the mission and vision of CommuniCare is communicated and practiced by the behavioral health providers assigned and that optimal productivity, patient satisfaction and service excellence scores are achieved by their respective clinical site. Assure modeling professional code of conduct and best practices to the behavioral health providers that they are assigned to supervise. Weight: 10% 3. Responsible for assuring each assigned behavioral health provider are functioning at or above the 90 percentile in productivity and providing and documenting excellent clinical outcomes based on their members’ panel and completion of assigned chart reviews at 100%. Weight: 10% 4. Work with Hays County Primary Care Lead and Practice Manager to plans, implements, and evaluates designated clinic site ensuring efficient, effective, and continuous improvement in clinical operation. Directly responsible for assigned provider performance appraisals, advocates provider concerns and issues, ensures timely audits for compliance review reporting to Quality Assurance Manager, and monitors standards of performance and quality of patient care through a peer review system. Weight: 10% 5. Works with primary care providers in the co-management and provision of care of child and adult patients that they mutually treat. Maintain a collegial working relationship in providing such care. Weight 10% 6. Reviews patient satisfaction survey to check for trends of any unfavorable quality practice or issue and recommend corrective action; assure that patient satisfaction survey is at 90% or above for each behavioral health provider supervised. Present to others via telephone or directly in a personal and professional manner. Weight: 10% 7. Establish and maintain community based working relationships and define partnerships within Hayes County. Weight: 2% 8. Performs other related duties as assigned. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorial degree, with five to seven years of job related experience. Doctorial degree and residency in psychiatry and or child and adolescent psychiatry. Knowledge of computer system and ability to accurately input necessary information Knowledge of budgets and fiscal management Knowledge and skill in proposal development and grant applications Knowledge of federally qualified health center rules/regulations Ability to work with diverse populations and knowledge of multi-ethnic cultures Knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association Board certification preferred. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred REQUIRED PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS: Finger Dexterity: Using fingers to make small movements such as typing or picking up small objects. Normal fine and gross motor control of fingers and hands. Talking: Frequently conveying detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, clearly, or quickly. Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information; hear whispered voice at five (5) feet. Repetitive Motions: Frequently and regularly using the wrists, hands, and fingers. Visual: Visual acuity necessary for the proper evaluation of a patient and to prepare or inspect documents or other materials. Ability to accurately view computer monitors Physical: Sitting 20-30% of time and standing, walking 70-80% of time. Lift up to 25 lbs.; push and pull up to 45 lbs. Able to bend at the waist, twist and turn along axial plane.
