The following pages are to help you prepare for this two-day program.
Following are the presentation topics we will cover in the High Impact
Presentations Program. Take a few moments to read each presentation topic and
prepare your ideas in light of your target audience (when indicated). Your advance
preparation allows for more presentation and coaching time.
We will have some limited time to prepare prior to each presentation; however
solid preparation beforehand will increase the impact of this program for you, your
organization, and your target audience.
DAY ONE
Preparation:

1. Creating a Positive First Impression
An introduction of yourself, your position, types of presentations you give most

A statement about your organization/company and/or the activities of your
team/department that answers the question “What does your organization/team
do well?”

3. Presenting Complex Information Clearly
A presentation to clearly explain a technical or complicated subject. We will cover
the use of visual aids and PowerPoint. This presentation will include guidelines for
conducting a professional Q&A Period.

Choose a technical or complicated aspect of a product or current/recent project.
Please choose a small portion that can be covered within 2-3 minutes.

DAY TWO
4. Communication with Greater Impact
We will use this exercise to help us become more convincing in how we present –
our mannerisms, vocal skills and other factors that ultimately determine our
success in transmitting our message to audiences.
There is no advance preparation for this topic.

Responding to challenging questions in high-pressure situations.

6. Inspiring People to Embrace Change
To convince, persuade and inspire people to embrace an idea that could be met
with resistance. In preparation, consider what you might want to convince others
of - perhaps a change in company policy, a new procedure, or a new product.
