Discuss pharmacologic treatment options and understand medications that inhibit or potentiate COPD symptoms. Define pharmacy compounding and review regulatory considerations in compounding medications. Discuss the pharmacokinetics, distribution, and elimination of pharmaceuticals by way of the route of delivery. Review the clinical and pharmacological rationale for transdermal delivery in pain management. Explain the common clinical presentations and common formulations used in pain management. Review clinical considerations in compounded medications including contraindications and side effects.
