At the completion of the Morning Program, participants will be able to:
 Discuss the prescribing considerations for selected topical therapies. Identify cost-effective therapies for common
dermatological conditions.
 Compare and contrast pharmacologic agents with regard to benefits, risks, side effects, drug interactions, labeling
and indications. Utilize evidence-based pharmacotherapeutic strategies in clinical practice to improve patient care
outcomes. Discuss pharmacologic treatment options for ear, nose, throat and allergy conditions.
 Verbalize the new changes in the 2014 immunization schedule and available products. Discuss the changes in
pediatric infectious diseases as the result of new vaccines. Explain the need/use of Vitamin D in the growing child
and the correct prescribing doses across the pediatric ages.
At the completion of the Afternoon Program, participants will be able to:
 Discuss the new Indiana prescribing guidelines for opioid medications. Discuss treatment of chronic pain without
opioids. Recognize appropriate risk stratification for the use of opioid medications. Discuss appropriate opioid
management.
 Discuss the rationale for the use of the most common types of contraceptive methods. Compare and contrast the
pros and cons of barrier methods versus oral contraceptives. Discuss what type of ‘patient education’ is critical when
managing a patient who uses contraception. Discuss when the Nurse Practitioner should refrain from prescribing
combined oral contraceptives.
 Discuss the latest treatment strategies/devices for Diabetes Mellitus. Review the class of SGLT2 inhibitors and their
mechanism of action and effects on glucose control.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations received in writing to SNAP at least 7 days prior to the seminar will be refunded.
Cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the seminar will be refunded 50% of the amount paid. No refunds will be
made for cancellations or no-shows the day of the seminar. Registration may be transferred to another participant at any
time to avoid cancellation fees.
