Preservation of the Old Town Hall section: Include the following after the second sentence: " At that meeting, Ed suggested that he be allowed to fill in the oval section on the front parapet, he also said he could replace the bricks that had been painted black. Earlier in the project Charles Olsen had suggested that the oval not be filled in but now that the project was nearing completion several people had commented that the work looked unfinished at the top." Abandoned Home on Green Street section: Include the following after the first sentence: " Sandi Shaw was able to buy the building with the approval of the grandson of Daniel Garfield, Raymond Hill, who was at the tax sale." A motion was made by Nancy Hoffman and seconded by Laura Hooks to approve the minutes of the June meeting with the stated corrections. The motion was approved. No petitions or correspondence have been received. Reports Boston Historical Materials: Nancy Hoffman reported we have a copy of the map provided by Danny Groover of the Boston Historic Properties. Sandi Shaw pointed out that there are eight maps included in the National Historic Register maps of Boston. Laura Hooks offered to contact Lee Webb at Landmarks of Thomasville to see if we can make copies of the set they have on file. Oral History of Boston: Laura Hooks provided an updated list of persons to include in the oral history project and requested assistance from commission members in providing contact information. Nancy Hoffman indicated that she has a book of Picket family that would have a lot of Boston families. Planning and Zoning report: No report. Old Business Preservation of the Old Town Hall. Sandi Shaw reported that we have spent all but $13,000. Bobby Wilder's bid on doing the windows left us enough money to do the roof. Sandi indicated that she would go to the Council on Monday and let them know that we have done all of the work, paid all of the bills, and the remaining $13,000 is enough money to do the roof. We have two bids for $11,700 for the roof repair and are ready to proceed; however, we have been assured that the roof is fine, it was applied properly, it is not leaking, and it is also appropriate to wait on repairs. We would like to know the Council's preference because if we use the money for some other purpose in the Town Hall, we want the Council's guarantee that they are taking responsibility for future roof repairs. It was determined that the work being done on the windows will ensure that the side window will be attractive and therefore will not be removed. Sandi Shaw indicated that several suggestions had been received regarding the painting of the trim . After a brief discussion, Laura Hooks moved that we accept the recommendations of Charles Olson; Nancy Hoffman seconded, and the motion was approved.
