Winifred Mary Anderson Apps - 1991 The following was written by N. H. Apps Win was a very devoted Slindoner and was always ready to help other people. She played stool ball for Slindon for a good many years. She was the organist for St Richard’s Church and never missed a service if she could help it She was taught music for the piano by Miss Izard who lived for a long time at Church House. During the war, she helped to run a lovely vegetable stall in Mr Brown’s garage and later helped her brother-in-law Walter Foreshew (our Slindon butcher) to serve the meat rations. She was always cheerful and loved dancing and singing in the choir. She ran whist drives every Tuesday night at The Village Clubhouse. I shall never forget her.
