June 18th, Warsaw Press release We know the GreenEvo winners We already know the winners of the 3rd edition of the GreenEvo - Technology Accelerator project of the Ministry of the Environment. The Ministry awarded ten out of 14 nominated companies, offering the total of 11 environmentally friendly technologies. The winning solutions include i.a. a system for the production of liquid fuels from plastic waste and the Integrator - an intelligent system for renewable energy management. The first solution serves to process waste form plastic originating from industry and households into liquid fuels. The technology is safe, environmentally friendly and economical, due to the repeated usage of post-production and municipal waste. The Integrator combines conventional and renewable energy sources, which enables achieving big savings on the heating of buildings and the preparation of hot water. GreenEvo - Technology Accelerator is a project of the Ministry of the Environment that has been conducted for 3 years. The aim of the undertaking is to promote Polish green technologies on foreign markets and to support their export. We want to show the World that Poland has innovative, ecological solutions which may compete with the largest global players. National environmentally friendly technologies form the basis for the development of a Polish green economy, the enhancement of our competitiveness and the creation of new jobs, says Marcin Korolec, the Minister of the Environment. GreenEvo prize-winners may count on various forms of support - from the participation in foreign commercial missions to subsidies from the export support funds offered by the Ministry of Economy and the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development. The effectiveness of the programme is proven by the success of its participants. The winners of the two GreenEvo editions held to date have improved their financial results by over 30 percent and over half of them have increased their employment rates. Technology’s name Technology’s description Production of mercury free insulating glass polyurethane sealants Two-component polyurethane sealant for windows that do not contain toxic isocyanates. The clue is the use of hybrid polymers, so that the product is safe and environmentally friendly. Production started in 2011 and right now is tested on an industrial scale. Technology was created for workers producing glass and windows, in order to raise their safety in contact with the sealant. Production of isocyanate free polyurethane sealants Polyurethane sealant for insulating glass, which contains no mercury in its composition, is used to protect the interior glazing units against moisture, as long as you maintain an inert gas (argon) and the glass panes permanently connected with the spacer element. In the manufacture of sealants is used mercury-free recipes and organic compounds of bismuth, which are not toxic to the environment and do not accumulate in living organisms. In addition, the product does not contain phthalates. Production of hydraulic binders based on Coal Combustion Products Production technology of hydraulic binders consists of treating the waste (ash from the combustion of lignite and hard coal in pulverized coal or fluidized bed) in a useful, cost-competitive and environmental-friendly mineral hydraulic binders for various geotechnical applications. Innovativeness is the application of the technology for a production of road materials and hydraulic waste from energy sector. Thanks to this is produced a completely new type of material hydraulic binder which could substitute compound products based on cement or lime. The application of aluminum in the production of solar collector absorbers The Hewalex company is a producer of innovative flat solar thermal collector which is made completely of aluminum. The aluminum absorber used in the solar-type Am, has both aluminum tubing and plate. Laser welding provides a precise and strong connection of the aluminum elements without deformation of the absorber sheet and eliminates the occurrence of corrosion in place of contact between them. In addition, by using laser welding the rate of heat 2 transfer fluid running inside the pipes is enhanced. Turbine by the fact that is connected with a moving rotor blades achieves high power efficiency up to 92% in a very wide range of flow rates from 20% to 100% of the esophagus in installed turbine. This solution allows for very efficient use of energy of the river. The technology, called insulating concrete formwork is mend for erection of durable structures of highly energy saving and passive houses. The structure is made out of concrete casted on site into formwork made out of insulating materials (EPS, Neopor and Peropor). Izodom's technology is based on the comprehensive application of insulating foam components for the construction of houses. Technology has excellent insulation from the floors, through walls, ceiling to the roof. The system is notable in that it prevents the formation of thermal bridges. The construction process of foundation slab is based on erecting a formwork out on insulating formwork blocs. The shuttering is field with concrete, which creates monolithical slab, which is low a load bearing element. The following system is designed for fast erection of passive houses or highly insulating ones. Recycling of materials used in industry Technology is based on comprehensive disassembling and utilization of redundant ammunition. Process is carried out safely for both environment and people operating this installation. “PLANETARIUM” system enable secure a lot of ammunition types and sizes utilization. Moreover, installation is mobile and provide possibility of its displacement, what results reduction of transportation costs. In addition, expenses reduction can also be seen as a result of lack of preparing necessary researches of ammunition stability and ability to transport. LMS is the acronym of Logic Managing System. Elements of the system cooperate with each other wirelessly. Optimization of radio communicating circuit has resulted in very low power LMS - Logic Managing System consumption in apartments, houses and each and every public building. Productivity of lithium battery is resolving the problem of Smart Metering, Smart Grid and Smar House for devices without access to electric power supply. Average power usage is between 400-800nA, during standby 50nA.The system is allowing to mount mini regulators in for example: window handles, heaters, wireless thermostats, ventilators and as well in gas and water meters, where it is not possible to have electric power continuously. Connectivity might be bidirectional, providing both user and operator (like gasworks, waterworks, power industry) possibility of controlling and steering. Additionally, consumer is no longer industrial waste batteries producer. Makroterm company offers an integrated heating systems for single-family houses. A combination of conventional and renewable energy sources yields huge savings on heating and hot water preparation costs. Gasification technology is an innovative approach to traditional combustion, because the company separated the process of gasification and combustion of the gas into two separate processes. It gives much better control of the process, formation of oxides and migrations of heavy metals into the exhaust has been minimized. A major advantage of the technology) is the possibility of utilizing biomass and waste at source and the production of renewable heat and electricity.
