'Blue Angel' for MÉGUIN hydraulic oil

Angel' of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment awards
products that fulfil the high demands of environmental, health and use

MÉGUIN was awarded with this environmental symbol.
Nationwide, MÉGUIN based in Saarlouis, Saarland, is just one of four
manufacturers for hydraulic oils that are allowed to display the
environmental symbol for biodegradable lubricants of hydraulic liquids,
RAL-ZU 178. "This fact alone makes us proud. The award is the reward
for our efforts to be able to offer environmentally conscious consumers
corresponding products," says sales manager Holger Hartmann.
The megol HEES 46 hydraulic oil was developed for use in vehicles in
construction, forestry and agriculture. As in machines that are used in
biologically critical surroundings such as water reserves or forests no
conventional hydraulic fluids can be used, instead only biodegradable
ones. This is required by law. Leaks such as a burst pipe can lead to
substantial environmental damage if lubricants with toxic, difficult to
degrade ingredients get into the soil or water.
Environmentally friendly hydraulic fluids display the HE identification for
Hydraulic Environmental. "Our megol HEES 46 hydraulic oil is based on
synthetic ester and is not dangerous for waters making it an ideal lubricant
for vehicles that operate in ecologically sensitive terrain," explains
Hartmann. At the same time, the oil has a high resistance to ageing and is
unaffected by extreme operating temperatures. It even effortlessly masters
use in piste equipment on mountains.
The 'Blue Angel' gives consumers making purchase decisions according
environmentally relevant and health aspects reliable and trustworthy
orientation. Criteria developed in-house for the corresponding product
group ensure that these products fulfil a high level of environmental, health
and consumer properties. These criteria are checked by the German
Federal Ministry for the Environment in a regular cycle in order to keep
up with technical advancements.
