Windsor Locks Town Hall

MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Joseph Bonito, Mickey Danyluk and William Fournier.

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bonito at 6:43 p.m.

A motion to approve minutes of June 13, 2012 was made by Mr. Danyluk, seconded by Mr.

Fournier and approved.

FINANCIAL REPORT:

Finance Department report of 3/1/13 shows an unencumbered balance of $363.95.

CORRESPONDENCE:

None

OLD BUSINESS

Mr. Danyluk reported Mr. Anderson could not meet with Superintendent, Wayne Sweeney, on

Feb. 25 th.

. Mr. Fournier and Mr. Danyluk were asked to come up with competencies for Heritage

Week to present to the Superintendent on April 1 st

at 1:30. The Superintendent was meeting on

March 28 th

with staff under banner of Heritage Week. Mr. Danyluk and Mr Fournier reviewed the proposed plans. Mr. Fournier met with Windsor Historical Society and Library (Susi Bell?) to discuss resources. Gloria Malec and the Windsor Locks Library concerned with too many students coming in and not having enough resources. Mr Danyluk received a copy of the GAR records from Ed Sabotka at the American Legion. He would like to make copies but here is no money in the budget.

NEW BUSINESS:

Mr. Danyluk made a motion for the laying of flowers on the grave of Gladys Reed to commemorate her passing 40 years ago on Nov 30 th

. After discussion no motion was made to 2 nd so Mr. Danyluk withdrew the motion. Mr. Fournier suggested a proclamation during Heritage week listing notable people in town instead.

Mr. Fournier and Mr Danyluk proposed the addition of 2 alternate members to the Commission.

Chairman Bonito will speak with 1 st

Selectman about procedures.

PUBLIC INPUT:

Jerry Dougherty - 27 North Street Windsor Locks

Mr. Dougherty took photographs of the meeting to place on his FOTKI site. He also reminded the

Commission of the Navy Band Concert that takes place on Memorial Day. He has listed events to inform the public.

Robert Pearce – 18 Whiton Street Windsor Locks

ADJOURNMENT:

A motion to adjourn was made by Mr. Danyluk, seconded by Mr. Fournier and carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:18 p.m.
