“Escape to Paradise”
First Quarter Ends on October 18th
It is hard to believe that one-fourth of the school year will be
completed in a couple of weeks.
Students and staff have settled in and by all accounts, the
school year has had a great beginning. It is enjoyable to watch
the school culture grow and take shape as the year progresses.
School activities are in full-swing as this newsletter goes out.
Our athletic teams are working hard to represent Windsor with
pride and our clubs are forming and taking shape. The Windsor
Golden Brigade continues to impress crowds and judges.
As a reminder, you are able to see current information about
your student through the SIS Parent Portal. If you do not have
access, please contact the main office so we can help you gain
access.
If you have a question about how your student is performing in
any class, please don’t hesitate to make contact with our
teachers. All of their contact information can be found on our
website.
Homework Lab is up and running in the library on Tuesdays and
Thursdays from 2:35pm – 4:05pm. This is a great place for
students to work on homework, use the computer, and work on
group assignments.
Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on October 24th
from 1:30pm – 6:30pm. This is an opportunity to have a brief
conversation with your student’s teacher to check progress, and
schedule an in-depth meeting if necessary.
Congrats to Jimmy West and Hannah Zysk (shown above) for
being elected as the 2013 Homecoming King and Queen.
The end of September culminated with Homecoming Week at
WHS. Students enjoyed a number of school spirit activities
throughout the week. Friday saw the inaugural Windsor
Homecoming Parade and the coronation of the King and Queen at
the football game. Alumni were welcomed with preferential
seating in the end zone and refreshments and souvenirs. Wet
weather did not dampen the homecoming dance, as approximately
700 students were in attendance.
