Remarks
The delivery suite could be the Himalayas for those
who normally have to brave their office air-con.
Vivi : agree, after delivery will feel weaker n colder
cos lost of blood, not good for confinement mum to
catch cold. Dun feel shy to ask for extra blanket if
you feel cold.
Protect your lips because its freezing cold…
Not to accessorise but to look fresh at all times,
even when in labour!
To keep you occupied while waiting for your baby’s
arrival.
MUST bring! Dad-to-be better hold on to it and
take good pix of baby’s arrival, baby on the
weighing scale, etc.
Important. Helps you remain contactable and can
send SMSes when you’re really bored.
Basic daily necessities to look and feel good.
Should treat ourselves well after going through the
most unforgettable moments of our life. :p For
those who don’t sleep with their home aircon turned
on throughout the night, body lotion and face
moisturiser will help to prevent skin dryness.
Vivi : eh recommend to bathe n wash hair clean b4
delivery n not after tat. Deliver liao should not bathe
n wash hair. Do take care of health, these old folks
tale should listen.
Optional. For those who want to look pretty when
there are visitors.
Heavy duty ones, please. Will probably need quite
a fair bit, so bring what we are used to is better than
using what the hospital provides. Moreover, the
hospital charged you for every pack opened!
Vivi : think its already in the bill even u dun use
them but not easy to use as they are those tied ones.
Can get those maternity pads at pharmancies thicker
than those normal pads.
A necessity throughout the first few days or weeks
for some people.
Button front type for easy breastfeeding, even
though you may not have started lactating.
Vivi : hospitals will provide if u dun mind. My feel
is dun pack too many things as u may have more
things to bring home after discharge, like gifts,
complimentary gifts from suppliers and hospital,
leftover pads, bb wipes, diapers, tissue etc.
In case engorgement or lactation started earlier than
expected.
For cracked nipples after delivery.
What can be more comfy than moving around in a
pair of warm slippers in the hospital?
Yes, this is important too…
To be changed into upon discharge. If you had
worn a fresh set of clothing upon admission and its
not soiled, you can wear the same set of clothing
Original marriage cert
Bank book / statement / pen
Breast pump + bottles
Baby’s stretch suit / mittens/
booties / hat / receiving blanket
upon discharge too.
For baby’s Birth Cert application.
Vivi : if u have not decided on the name u have 14
days for birth cert application
For MCYS’ Baby Bonus application.
Vivi : can submit application during birth cert
application later.
Optional. In the event lactation started earlier than
expected and you would like to store the milk.
Optional. Baby will be fully “dressed” by TMC
upon discharged unless specifically requested by
you to dress baby in your own runway collection.
Vivi : o so good ah KKH & SGH need u to bring
own bb’s clothing, mittens and booties and
receiving blanket.
Impt to ask for milk samples
from hospital for bb during
discharge. If bb can be
discharged together wif u good
to have one handy in case on the
way bb hungry need to be fed.
Note
Quantity to bring for each of the items above is really up to the individual. No harm bringing
extra, just in case. If you have smart helpers who can help you buy “anything” at the very last
minute, then its alright to ignore those items you feel may not be necessary to go into your
“Full Pack” now.
