NEWS
What’s New at SCU! email has a new email….. that means you can send an
email to whatsnew@swcu.edu and submit comments, ideas, news items,
important events, or anything you think needs to be shared.
Construction began on a new indoor facility at Dolese Park for baseball. Team
and coaches have been doing fundraisers since last summer and have raised
$25,000 to build the indoor batting cages and pitching facililty.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
SCU has a several full time positions open, visit our web site and share with
those who would be interested in joining the SCU community.
Kaylee Gernandt will be presenting at the Christian Thought Forum, October 23
Bekah Willis will be presenting at the Oklahoma Association of Institutional
Research Conference, October 23
Prof. Groves, Horn, and Hadley will be attending the Oklahoma Association of
Colleges of Education Association, October 22

BETHANY, Okla. – Southwestern Christian University upended Southwestern
Assemblies of God (Texas) 3-1 Friday at Pickens-Springer Gymnasium.
PANAMA CITY, Fla. – Southwestern Christian University men's and women's
golf teams will compete in the NCCAA Golf National Championships Oct. 19-21
at The Hombre Golf Club

FROM DEAN DAVIS:
Chapel: 10 Questions sermon series. These are the top ten questions that
students asked last semester. Professor Culham and Pastor Steve Ely will be in
chapel addressing the first two questions:
Are all religions basically the same?
AND
Why would God send people to hell?
On October 22, representatives from Briefcase will be on campus to help
students set up their profile and our soon to be graduates to find a job.
Homecoming and Preview Weekend:
Competition begins between the classes during the week of Homecoming (Nov
2-7). Students will be designing and pomping a float or standalone structure
which will be judged by the homecoming committee.
Also, voting for homecoming king and queen as well as other representatives will
be happening soon.
