DESCRIPTION OF THE ORGANIZATION/GROUP: “Movimentazioni” is a cultural, social
promotion oriented, non profit association. It was born in 2003 with the idea to “enliven” the city of
Pescara (Enliven in Italian is “movimentare”, and so “Movimentazioni”). The main fields of activities
are: social promotion, youths and citizenship ( democracy, peace, involvment, cooperation, urban
cultures and youth languages), culture (audiovisual, arts, cinema, publishing and book, indipendent
music), communication and technoligical innovations, associative bookshop, children and
childhood (creative and educational workshops, invitation to the reading, taly recitals).
DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITIES OF THE ORGANIZATION/GROUP : The main activities in
progress are: “Arte & Trash” that will be finished on August 2010. This project is financed by the
action 1.2 of the program “Youth in Action” and Movimentazioni is acting as coordinator and tutor.
“Casauria Nature Festival” that will take place for the first time on August 2010. This festival aim
to promote the natural, artistical and cultural richness of the territory.
“E-dotto - officina di creatività” workshops for children (6-10 years) are in progress. These
workshops want to address children to reading, ecology and peace through plays and
creative activities.
The course in event organization and cultural journalism,in partnership with the association
“Mentelocale”, and the Italian course for foreigners are about to finish.
On March, May and June 2010 we organized the package tours to Naples for the exhibition
Barok, to Rome for the Caravaggio’s exhibition, to the artistical town of Castel del Monte,
Altamura e Matera.
“Etnolab” a project for the diffusion of the african and balkan cultures ended on June 2010. This
project was financed by the action 1.2 of the program “Youth in Action”.
Since 2003 we have been realizing arts cinema festivals (“Vertigo”, “Gli imperdibili”) in a lot of
Pescara cinemas, special projections and national previews with actors and directors. We
also promote cinema in peripheral districts with public projections in peripheral squares and
by promoting cinema with courses in the high schools.
Since 2006 we have been managing a little associative bookshop of the circuit “Interno 4”
realizing a lot of book-presentations with authors, experts and essayists of national and
international relevance.
Since 2004 we have been working as organizational and productional partner at the “Indie Rocket
Festival”. It is an international festival for the promotion and the diffusion of independent rock
music. In the various editions showed off a lot of young bands coming from all over the world.
THE EXCHANGE PROJECT
Please describe the young people who will comprise the group and the exchange activity
CONTEST AND TARGET RANGE
The project is addressed to young people who prove to have interacted with discriminated
community and ethnic minorities. Furthermore, in every group,at least, one of the participants must
be a member of these minorities. Each group must be made up of six members.
Countries which take part in this project must make ready , previously the period of the exchange,
dance performances, music , and they must know the main themes which will be treated during
the exchange and included in our purposes.
PURPOSES
Analogies and differences of racial/religious/ethnic and sexual discriminations in each
Country that will take part in this project.
Analyse of the interaction between migrants and host countries, and research of a virtuous
model of interaction.
Comparison of the laws which rule the immigration policy (rights and duties of the
immigrant).
Analyse of the issue about the political refugee.
Interaction between musical workshops which allow to know deeply far away and
discriminated cultures such as the african and the balcanic .
Engagement on the part of all participants to undertake initiatives of interaction , when the
exchange will finish.
ACTIVITY
Total period: 8 days (14th - 22th september 2011)
First day: ARRIVAL AND WELCOME
DURING THE ENTIRE EXCHENGE: there will be musical labs and theme discussions ,included in
the main purposes, with the respective expositions of the real experiences.
All the expositions will be catalogued in a “dossier”, and we will try to make it public with a miniexhibition at the end of the exchange.
A party on theme will be foreseen every night.
Each Country will arrange a presentation of itself by music, folk dances, and tasting of tipical
dishes.
Two excursions: PROVINCE OF CHIETI / PROVINCE OF L’AQUILA
The final day will be dedicated to the presentation of the activities performed during the exchange:

setting up of the exhibition;

presentation of the “dossier”;

public performance of african and balcanic music.
