VENDOR INFORMATION & APPLICATION
NY Gourd and Artisan Festival
September 13 & 14, 2014

The New York State Gourd Society & Cornell Cooperative Extension - Broome County
Purpose:
The purpose of the NY Gourd and Artisan Festival is to educate, familiarize and
entertain the public with gourds, fiber arts, woodcarving and other homemade arts.
Location:
Cornell Cooperative Extension, 840 Upper Front Street, Binghamton, NY 13905-1500
Dates/Times: Saturday and Sunday 9/13 ─ 9/14 from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
Fest will be held rain or shine.
The Details:

Vendor Space Available (inside) 8’ x 12’ $35 fee, per space

Vendor Space available (outside) 10′ x 12’ $30 fee, per space

Electricity available (indoors only)

NOTE: All raw gourd sales must be outside; All animals must be outside

A confirmation email will be sent to you within 5 days of application receipt.

BC Cooperative Extension is located at Exit 5 Route 81, and within 1 mile of the junctions for
both Routes 88 and 17 (86) and Route 81

A commitment to both days is strongly encouraged, however no fee reduction will be given if
you are only planning to set up for one day.
Vendor Set-up: Friday 9/12 from 5 to 8 pm and/or Saturday 9/13 from 7 to 8:30 am
Vendor Requirements:

Supply own tables, chairs, table covers (plus your own power strips and extension cords if
electricity is needed)

Ensure a minimum of one person will be at the booth the entire time.*If needed, a booth sitter
may be available upon request (for a lunch or bathroom breaks)

Must be an artist/craftsperson and/or suppliers of tools, supplies, and embellishments for
homemade creations

NYSGS & CCE-BC encourages vendors to do demonstrations in their spaces

Vendors have the right not to have their items photographed. If a vendor does not wish to allow
photographs, the vendor will be responsible for posting a clearly visible sign noting such.


The Fine Print

Reservations accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Booth assignments will be made by
the Fest Committee.

Reservations must be pre-paid.

Cancellations (with refund) no later than August 15, 2014; (Cancellation after August 15th may
be refunded if NY-GAF is able to rent the space to another vendor).

The NYSGS and the BC Cooperative Extension are not responsible for accidents, loss, theft, or
breakage of any items or vehicles.

All vendors are expected to be packed up and off the property no later than 9:00 pm Saturday
evening, September 14th, 2014.

NOTE: There will be no early breakdown. If you break down before 5:00 pm, you may not be
invited back the following year.

Tax Information – for license application go to www.tax.ny.gov/bus/st/register.htm
o NYS State Sales Tax is 8% on all tangible sales. It shall be the individual vendor’s
responsibility to collect and report such tax as appropriate.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Complete the vendor registration form (below).
2. Please make checks payable to “Broome County Cooperative Extension”. If you would like to pay

3. Send form with appropriate space(s) fee(s) to no later than August 14th, 2014 at the following
