Course Description
The course aims to familiarise students with pedagogical and psychological problems of
special needs children, particularity of education and will learn to appropriately apply
methods for education of disabled or gifted children, who are also specific in their thinking,
behaviour and creativity. A particular role educating such children is played by ethnic arts as
an environment, which is closest to an individual and creates a feeling of security and ensures
creativity.
Aims: to provide students with knowledge of possibilities for arts education of children with
special needs and to form their ability to practically apply them for dissemination of artistic
activity outcome.
Main objectives. To enable a student:
1. To know psychological and physiological aspects of exceptional children education
2. To familiarise with principles of exceptional children’s capabilities
3. To adapt the content of arts education more flexibly
4. To apply the results of exceptional children’s arts education in local and multicultural
educational space.
