William CAMPBELL born abt 1882 either in Napier, Christchurch or Timaru. William,
Private 10/1202 of the 2nd Reinforcements Wellington Infantry Regiment, left NZ on 14
December 1914 from Wellington on board the 'Willochra' and disembarked at Egypt
before going to Gallipoli where he died of disease on 13 September 1915. William is
buried at the Alexandria Chatby Military & War Memorial Cemetery in Egypt. His
parents have been given as William & Annie CAMPBELL, 12 Victoria St, Timaru or of
Lawrence, Tuapeka. His last address in NZ is Masterton.
William had a brother Private 11227 Charles William Lachlan CAMPBELL and his
mother Mrs Annie CAMPBELL is his next of kin at Weatherstone, Lawrence.
