2013/2014 Literary Reading Series Maria Campbell Kiyas Iskwewak, Long ago Women. As a Trudeau Fellow Storyteller, writer Maria Campbell has been doing research on the long ago lives of Aboriginal women and trying to understand the roots of violence that have left so many of them missing and murdered. She will read excerpts from that research and talk about her findings and thoughts. Author of Half-Breed, and an award-winning playwright. A noted lecturer and workshop facilitator, Ms. Campbell was honoured with an Honorary Doctorate in Laws from the University of Regina and taught Native Studies at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. Maria Campbell received a National Aboriginal Achievement Award for bringing the story of her people to the eyes and ears of the world.
