Minutes of the July 10, 2015 Regular RAMAC Meeting
Warren Field, Shasta Lake, California
The meeting was convened at 9:00 A.M. Ten persons including one guest and a
visitor were present.
Treasurer Jerry Nystrom reported our bank balance as being $5086.77.
The Broken Prop Award has disappeared. To Whom It May Concern, don’t be
embarrassed, you earned it, now bring it back!
Dan Joseph reminded us that the undersides of the recently repaired shade
structure roofs need to be painted. We have the paint. We need bodies (with arms).
Sunshine Lady, Carol Bershers, noted that Dan Joseph has been slowed by the hot
weather, but hasn’t quit trying. Nancy Cavanaugh is recovering rapidly from her neck
surgery and is now out and about with Ed. Russ Duclos seems to be doing O.K. and still
enjoys phone calls, his Porsche Cayenne SUV is for sale, and so if you would like to bring
your planes to the field in style, this is a great opportunity. Norm Van Dyke had his first
cataract operation this week and is recovering a little slower than he would like.
Dan Joseph, Gary Heitman and Kurt Bell manned our booth at the Father’s Day
event at Benton Airfield. Kurt brought his quadcopter and that seemed to be what people
were most interested in. Thank each of you for your work on such a hot day.
Several members reaffirmed that they plan to attend the Jefferson Aero Modelers
Fun Fly at Friday’s RV Resort in McCloud on August 29 th (actually extending from 8/27 to
8/30).
Jerry Nystrom gave us the status of his work on reserving the Elks Club venue and
the same caterer for our next Christmas’ dinner. It was moved, seconded and approved for
Jerry to spend up to $400 for the Christmas Raffle on inexpensive models currently on
sale. Phil Harvey was asked to prepare a list of prizes within a $1200/1400 budget for
consideration as raffle prizes.
President Dan Joseph reported that new member Michael Jessup donated several
used picnic tables. They will be sanded and painted for use at the field.
Phil Harvey brought his Pietenpol Sky Scout configured as a float plane for show
and tell. This is an easy kit build and a good low, slow flyer.
The regular August meeting will be held at the field beginning at 9:00 AM,
Saturday, August 8th.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:56 A.M.
