School Catchment Areas
1) Baltasound – From the north of Unst to the south side of Baltasound.
2) Uyeasound – South part of Unst including Westing.
3) Cullivoe – North part of Yell as far south as Colvister
4) Mid Yell – Central part of Yell from Basta in the north and south to
West Sandwick and East Yell.
5) Burravoe – South part of Yell including West Yell and Gossabrough.
6) Fetlar – whole island of Fetlar
7) North Roe – As far south as Collafirth Brig
8) Ollaberry – Includes Ronas Voe, Swinister and north to the Collafirth
Brig
9) Urafirth – Hillswick, Eshaness and as far south as Hamar.
10) Mossbank – Includes Toft and Firth
11) Brae – From Enisfirth in the north to Graven in the East and Parkgate
in the south.
12) Olnafirth – From Mulla, west to the Loch of Gonfirth and north to Dale
and Collafirth.
13) Skerries – all of both islands
14) Lunnasting – From Lunna to Laxo.
15) Whalsay- whole island of Whalsay
16) Nesting – From the south side of Laxo Voe to the Nesting junction.
17) Papa Stour – all of the island of Papa Stour
18) Sandness – Melby, Norby, Sandness and Bousta
19) Happyhansel – Walls, West Burrafirth and as far east as West
Houlland.
20) Aith – A wide geographical area from the Ness of Noonsbrough, east
to the Loch of Gonfirth, south to Russa Ness and West to Gruting.
(Following the closure of Gruting School parents were given a choice of
schools to attend so the boundaries between Aith, Happyhansel and
Skeld are not clearly defined)
21) Skeld – Reawick, Skeld and Culswick.
22) Whiteness – From the top of the Scord of Weisdale to the top of
Wormadale and north to Upper Kergord. Stromfirth pupils also attend
Whiteness although they may officially be in the Tingwall catchment
area.
23) Tingwall – From the top of Wormadale to Brunthamarsland in the north
and Griesta in the south. The houses at Frakkafield may officially be in
the Tingwall catchment area but pupils from there have attended Bells
Brae in the recent past.
24) Scalloway – Trondra, Scalloway as far north as the Loch of Tingwall.
25) Hamnavoe – Whole of the island of Burra.
26) Bells Brae – Lerwick east of the Ayre of Clickimin.
27) Sound – from Ayre of Clickimin to Gulberwick.
28) Bressay - whole island of Bressay
29) Foula - whole island of Foula
30) Cunningsburgh – Quarff to Mail
31) Sandwick – From the north Sandwick junction to Channerwick.
32) Dunrossness – From Levenwick to Sumburgh including Maywick
33) Fair Isle - whole island of Fair Isle
