Skara Brae: A Neolithic Civilization
The discovery and mastery of agriculture (farming) takes early man into the New Stone Age, or Neolithic
times. Our ancestors, from about 10,000 to 5,000 years ago, worked on new and better ways of farming.
Family groups started expanding and life became centered on the village instead of just the immediate
family. Today we will investigate what life was like for people in the village of Skara Brae, off the northern
coast of Scotland.
