[BPIDEA-13] Give the option to show 'View' count by unique views Created: 09/Jan/15 Updated: 18/May/15 Status: Project: Component/s: Affects Version/s: Fix Version/s: To Do Ideation None None Type: Reporter: Resolution: Labels: Remaining Estimate: Time Spent: Original Estimate: Improvement Paul Wozniak Unresolved None Not Specified None Priority: Assignee: Votes: Major Anis Othman 0 Not Specified Not Specified Description Right now the view count for an idea will increase anytime anybody refreshes the idea page. It would be useful to have the view count only go up once in one session, to give better indication of how much the page is actually looked it. For example, if the same person looks at the same page within some time period (e.g. 30 minutes) more than once, only increment by the view count by 1. The way it is right now can lead to wild results. Comments Comment by Melek Jebnoun [ 18/May/15 ] Hi Paul, First let me apologize for the late answer. We had a little problem within our notification system and in some cases we can not receive notifications when an issue is created. We thank you for raising this thought to our attention. The unique barrier to make the view counter smarter is the amount of data we are able to store for each page. If we need to manage views by time or session this means save information to compare which is sometimes tricky because it causes slow loading problems for a wiki page. Still, we will study some enhancement for this views system for our next release. Thanks again for your contribution and please don't hesitate if you have any other request or idea.
