[EXASOL-1429] Possible error when inserting data into large tables Created: 24.11.2014 Updated: 07.01.2015 Resolved: 24.11.2014 Status: Project: Component/s: Affects Version/s: Fix Version/s: Resolved EXASOL Roadmap EXASolution EXASolution 5.0.1 Type: Reporter: Resolution: Labels: Bug Mathias Golombek Fixed None Issue Links: Causing Duplicate Related EXASolution 5.0.2 Priority: Assignee: Votes: Normal Mathias Golombek 0 Description Inserting new data into large indices with broad index keys (four or more index columns) may fail under certain circumstances such as a big table size, few distinct values in index columns, skew in index column values and a certain variety in the new index data. To fully recover index stability we recommend a recreation of all indices on the database. This can be achieved by REORGANIZE DATABASE ENFORCE. This does not only recreate indices but remove any deleted marked rows, too. Therefore this statement will cause a lot of HDD_READ and take a while.
