[BPIDEA-34] Sort by Recently does not sort all the ideas correctly Created: 23/Sep/15 Updated: 26/Nov/15 Resolved: 26/Nov/15 Status: Project: Component/s: Affects Version/s: Fix Version/s: Done Ideation None None Type: Reporter: Resolution: Labels: Remaining Estimate: Time Spent: Original Estimate: Environment: Bug Paul Wozniak Done None Not Specified Attachments: Page 1.png None Priority: Assignee: Votes: Critical Melek Jebnoun 0 Not Specified Not Specified Confluence 5.6.3 Page 2.png Description We have over 4 pages worth of ideas when displaying them via the Ideation list macro. When I attempt to sort by Recently, the ideas are sorted, but not all of them are sorted. Some of the newest ideas are on pages 3 and 4 while ideas from a few months ago are on the first page. As an example, I've attached Page 1 and Page 2 of our Ideation page. I am sorting by Recently and yet the 1st idea on Page 2 should not be there, and the 2nd idea on Page 2 should be top on Page 1. We recently purchased this add-on and it's getting a lot more eye balls on it. As more ideas are put in, it will be harder for us to sort ideas, if we can't sort to see the recently created ones. Comments Comment by Lab Support [ 26/Sep/15 ] Hi Paul, Thanks for reporting this issue. We are forwarding all those details to the right team to investigate the source of the problem. Expect more details from our side in the coming days. Thanks again. Comment by Paul Wozniak [ 28/Sep/15 ] Thank you. Comment by Xin-Lin Goh [ 06/Nov/15 ] May I know if there are any updates to this issue? I'm having the same problem. New ideas are not appearing at the top of the list. What appears to happen is that when our ideas page is loading, I can see the newest idea at the top (very briefly), but once the page is loaded, the same (old) idea always resides at the top (and the newest idea has disappeared to another page). Thanks. Comment by Paul Wozniak [ 06/Nov/15 ] This renders the plugin unusable to some extent. Ideas cannot be found. Comment by Xin-Lin Goh [ 06/Nov/15 ] Yes, and clicking on the next page (i.e. 2 or next or last) results in a blank page. I'm unclear at this stage if this problem is related to the plug-in or confluence itself. I am restricted to viewing the first page of ideas. I am however able to view all ideas by clicking on the table view. Comment by Lab Support [ 10/Nov/15 ] Hi Paul Wozniak and Xin-Lin Goh Really sorry for the delay to get in touch concerning your questions. So we investigated the problem and it seems to be more complicated then what it was expected. That's why we decided to freeze this feature for the next ideation version (version 3.0) (By freezing we mean that we removed the sort button for the ideas stream) To replace this feature we added a new column to the table view related to ideas creation date. This way you can sort ideas based on creation date. (it's a sortable table with some other sort options like comments, views, statuses ...) We also made the display of ideas sorted by a descendant order - From recently created to last created - This criteria is enabled by default when you land on the ideas listing and when you make a search based on filters (statuses, creation period..) The new version is expect before the end of November as we are doing current some tests to check compatibility with previous versions data. Thanks a lot for your understanding and all your inputs concerning this issue. We hope the new modifications will solve the problem from your side. Thanks Comment by Paul Wozniak [ 12/Nov/15 ] Thank you for the update. Really looking forward to the 3.0 version. Comment by Lab Support [ 26/Nov/15 ] Hi Paul, Closing this issue as we implemented a new sorting logic within Ideation 3.0. You can test it by using the table view mode for your ideas listing. The documentation link within our marketplace page about Ideation details to steps and the parameters that can be activated for sorting.
